Was Boris asking Geidt if he would sanction the govt’s imposition of tariffs which would benefit ministers with related interests *without* the declaration of those interests?!

Lord Geidt resigned as ethics adviser because the prime minister asked him to sanction a deliberate and wilful breach of the ministerial code of conduct. “I can have no part in this”, he said. This is hugely damaging to the reputation of the whole government.

The only conclusion to be drawn is that Geidt was asked to sanction tariffs being imposed to help companies with connections to the Conservative Party or ministers.

Literally no-one is surprised though, are they? Not like it's not consistent with everything this lump has done in office.
The same voices will carry on supporting him.
BREAKING: Boris Johnson’s spokesman says the PM is reviewing whether he still needs an independent ethics adviser, following Lord Geidt’s resignation.
No commitment to hire a replacement.

Tbf, replacing Geidt is likely to be about as valuable as appointing a Style Consultant for Bob Geldof, a Lifestyle Coach for Johnny Vegas, or a Minorities Liaison for Katie Hopkins.
They're only there to add legitimacy and that's not working
Leaves it open to the accusation that the govt has no ethics

BBC News had a piece on a Devon (voter intentions) and interviewed a local cattle farmer family. The majority of whom stated they'd be voting conservative.
Seemingly unaware the hardships (CV19 aside) they have suffered have been a result of tory party polices.
You've got a party who has systematically brought in a range of policies and procedures, (a sceptic may consider purposefully) that has caused immense damage to their industry. Yet folk still happy to vote for them.
Bonkers.
Vox pops are awful for stuff like this though, they're only representative of those they spoke to but can actually drive opinion based on what some idiot off the street thinks

This..
Corbyns policy's were somewhat dangerous to Farmers tbf, the conservatives are much more protective of peoples property rights, and right TO property. Which of you have a lot of property, generally with byways and rights of access, there's a reason people vote Tory.
Corbyn was even talking about putting inheritence tax on smallholdings, which would pretty much kill it as a way of life, all in the name of catching the rich folk who use it to avoid tax.. trying to crack a walnut with a sledgehammer..
