I know Labour are desperate to try and be heard at the moment (funny my normal complaint is that Starmers problems don't get enough news coverage) but this constant accusation that in one way or another all Tory leadership candidates propped up an iffy geezer is a hopeless argument.

Any interviewer or mp from another party will simply point out that Starmer tried to get Corbyn into number 10 and Boris won an 80 seat majority so was clearly a popular choice regardless of his moral failings.

Best thing Labour can do is keep their heads down and enjoy their summer hols and Sept 5th it all starts again.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
That comparison is irrelevant though.

Starmer backed someone who turned out to be unpopular and didn't get elected PM.

whereas these Conservative candidates continued to back someone for 2.5 years of lies, corruption, and even when he was fine by the police. It was only when public opinion changed did they finally decide to get rid of him, showing they don't actually care about values, just staying in power.

If the polls still had the Tories winning, they never would have done anything regardless of the Pincher situation.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I think it's got far more to do with their personal ambitions than the polls as the number of candidates has shown.

The only poll worth listening to is the exit poll on GE night, shy Tories always skew mid term figures.

Pawl mate... "Shy Tories" comes from the days of polling being done in public

Why would someone feel shy about admitting voting conservative in an online poll from their own home?

I saw that LBC interview the other day Why do they have to keep going back to EU issues time and time again. What relevance does Turkey have to do with her ability to be UK PM. Nuts...

I've no idea but they do.

Labour are 10 points ahead in the most recent poll yet whoever wins the Tory leadership does anybody really believe that if there was a GE right now they would win by that amount?

In 2015 going into the GE Cameron and Red Ed were virtually level in the polls and the Tories murdered Labour.

Infact I'm amazed the press still give these polls any credence at all.
