Putting it quite simply, the country cannot afford an NHS that meets the expectations of the public.

Taxes would have to rise significantly just to ‘maintain” management of immediate need, never mind pre planned prevention.

And then there’s the cost of all the infrastructure to bring the decrepit state of the infrastructure up to modern standards or in many cases rebuild.

And what do we do with patients while all this is going on?

Horrendous outlook no matter which way it’s viewed.

The political parties vying for government haven’t a clue how to solve it and haven’t the balls to admit this to the public and tell them the cost (which they’ll underestimate anyway), far less who will pay what.

Sticking plasters are now even becoming a waste of time.

Should also add I don't want politicians homes targeted, but what are they actually supposed to do at this point?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Not targeting individuals private homes would be a start

Fwck me, the people on here and practically anywhere else would take great exception to anyone they don’t know clambering all over their residence, regardless of their “cause”.

It’s trespass for starters and no doubt the fwckwits would start legal proceedings if one fell off and clattered themselves or worse because they were able to enter a property and be at risk. It happens on building sites all the time.

Any of you wandering onto a building site and see what happens. But this is ok because some disagree with his politics. Fwxakes

Who on earth defends these actions?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I didn't say it was ok, I originally said they're merely doing what everyone told JSO to do, and actually target those who can change things instead of the public.

Not trying to catch you out or anything, but what form of protest do you think would be acceptable and also noticeable enough to cause a fuss?

=====
Nope. No need to exaggerate. Laws for homes are not the same as building sites. The latter have to be secured and trespass-proof by law and if not secured then liability arises.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Is there a difference criminally between trespass and aggregates trespass?

Handcuffing themselves to gates of the commons or Downing Street?

Hunger strikes? Climbing the top of a tall building and handcuffing themselves there?

Really not that difficult

I never said you did say it was ok

As to forms of protest, I get the targeting of the oil companies and or outside parliament. Petitions, garnering public support through better communication as to what they believe the affects will be so that they gain larger support.

Voting in MP’s that represent them better (yes I know); but that is why we have a parliament.

It’s up to them to determine their methodology but the targeting of private homes is an absolute no no from me and like many of these protestors, they don’t convey the mood of the general public enough and nor do they align with the more serious issues families face every day.

“Stopping oil” is just nowhere near the top of their agenda in any manner whatsoever. They can’t afford to.

It's not a guarantee that taxes must be increased, not for everyone anyway.

First thing we need to do is get rid of the Tories ASAP, then take it from there. Years of bad leadership and underfunding from the Tories is killing the NHS so that they and their fat rich friends can get in on the health scene.

The oceans have hit their hottest ever recorded temperature as they soak up warmth from climate change, with dire implications for our planet's health.

The average daily global sea surface temperature beat a 2016 record this week, according to the EU's climate change service Copernicus.

It reached 20.96C. That's far above the average for this time of year.

Austerity Britain*
----------------------------------------------------------------------
This.

A criminally stupid programme based on (very) outdated economic ideas which history had repeatedly shown us wouldn't work.

It heaped untold pain on the UK and Europe’s most vulnerable people, and where did it get us?

Good growth outcomes? No; amongst the worst in the world. Reduced public debt? Nope; quite the opposite in many places. Stronger balance of payments? Nope. A sound bedrock from which to build a stronger economy in the decades to come? Nope. A fair deal for taxpayers?

The bank bailouts were indefensible. Austerity was worse. It should have been the last experiment of its kind anywhere in the world. Unfortunately, it already looks like that won’t be the case.

In the meantime get exponentially poorer, & pay more for everything! Whatever you do don’t protest or strike lest it disturb people like Sat Nav, he sees getting to a sporting event as more important than a fair wage, being able to house and feed your family, or improving the mess of we’ve made the environment for our kids

I agree with you apart from the bank bailouts were wholly necessary unless you wanted to see a whole system collapse resulting in destitution for many normal people and incredible civil unrest

Regarding austerity, yes it's mad that these big brians on the right who champion it seem to think you can easily achieve growth without investment
