The flag is nothing more than a representation of the country.
I also despise the term flag shaaaaggers etc.
In less than ten years we’ve moved to such a nasty, bitter and angry place. This wasn’t too long ago and for me shows what a flag is all about. Being held by Mo just showed what Britain is all about.

I don't think society has shifted that much, it's just that there are small but very vocal mobs of people who live on Twitter in self-radicalising bubbles where they're not exposed to reasoned dissenting opinions. We would all be better off if we took Twitter trends with a pinch of salt; this is a platform that gives everyone a voice, regardless of how ill-informed, ill-experienced and ill-intentioned they are.

Once smoked a rollie without a filter and a strong of tobacco came through and wrapped itself round my punchbag thing
Never again

Recently switched from camel blue to rollies. Never used to like them but they feel so much cleaner, well less filthy.

I remember I thought a good way when younger was to roll a cigarette up as a rollie so use the cigarette tobacco in the rizla

But it seeps into culture and society as a whole. It doesn’t just stay on Twitter, I’d be perfectly happy with that but it spills into our institutions, the workplace, education, politics are all influenced by these intersectional bubbles.

I see it was the Green party run Brighton and Hove City Council putting forward the proposals for public places.
Whilst on the face of it, it seems a bit extreme, (given industrial CO2 emissions) according to the below study "a typical summer barbecue* for four people releases more greenhouse gases into the atmosphere than an 80 mile car journey."

At the end of the day the ballot box is a much truer representation of where society stands on these trends and I don't see any ringing endorsements of intersectional identity politics, in the UK at least

The UK saw 7% more deaths than normally expected during 2020 - one of the highest in Europe, data from the Office for National Statistics shows.
Within the UK, England's death rate was 8% above expected levels across the whole year, Scotland's was 6%, Northern Ireland 5% and Wales 4%.
During the autumn wave in 2020, Poland, Spain and Belgium were among the worst affected countries.
By the end of the year, the UK was in the top 10 worst hit.

That’s why it seeps into politics. There isn’t a significance party representing these views in entirety that has any success at the ballot box, no.
However, what we see is the main political parties adopting parts of it, sometimes tiny sometimes more significant. How many MPs use Twitter? How many times do we hear Twitter level uninformed logic in the house?
I think the way these variants are popping up, the countries where they originate will always come out of the stats worse off to begin with, then once the variants spreads outwards then other surrounding and internationally-connected countries start to feel the ripple effects. It'll be years before we can truly tell which countries came out of this best. It wasn't too long ago for e.g. that China was the worst-hit country in the world.
