What makes you think I supported our foreign policy. I’d sooner leave Islamic countries to their own devices.

The West can’t win for trying, they get criticised for invading countries with despot leaders and then get condemned for not doing more in Syria.

Who are we referring to by "the west"?

Anywho, this would be a good point if the west didn't install or help install those leaders in the first place, even creating or helping to create the very ideology of terrorism, establishing terrorist movements, or movements that conveniently later turn heel and become terrorists etc.

The list of despots and dictators we have put in power, helped put in power or collaborated with is endless. And how many otherwise functional regimes have we ruined for not toeing the line with us?

Probably our greatest enemy in the middle east, Iran is ruled by a regime we put in place after helping to overthrow a democratically elected government because that government wasn't playing ball with us. We installed the current regime who at the time were our allies because they agreed to satisfy our interests in the oil and resources and middle east politics once they got into power.

We knew they were islamists and we knew what they'd subject millions to, but it was in our interest to have them there so fack the millions of people. How we went from there to where we are now is another story.

There are elements that view leaving Islamic countries to their own devices as danger to the west. We have sowed discord and used divide and rule. Indeed, it is dangerous to the west as for instance, you risk them uniting and leaving the dollar economy, taking control of global energy, which they probably would have done by now if they weren't so busy dodging bombs and missiles.
