The key question is though Satters, who goes first, ETH or the PM 😜
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Ihahaha
I’m relatively indifferent about the two tbh. The problem with either leaving is who comes in??
As to who goes first, hmmm can ETH make it until the start of next season?
I’d probably say that ETH goes first
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Indifferent? Interesting, do you think either are doing a good job? It goes without saying I presume that you still support the club despite the person leading it, is that the same for the political party?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I think they've both done OK. Sunak has been extremely forgettable with occasional moments of stupidity, occasional moments of appealing to certain sections of voters. He's very bland and won't be remembered in any way.
Yes I would continue to support United regardless of the manager at the helm.
As to the Conservative Party - I don't really support it like I used to as it's not what it used to be. I'm the blue version of Labour Voters on here who look at Blair's Labour and Starmer's Labour and find that it doesn't represent them nor bears any similarity to traditional labour governments.
Both of these parties are long dead. I will probably not vote again in the next GE which I don't like to do but it's just a complete mess right now.
It has been quite rightly (although with the intention of mocking Tories) pointed out that consecutive conservative governments have spent spent spent and increased taxes, immigration numbers are still far too high for the country to handle:
https://www.statista.com/statistics/283287/net-migration-figures-of-the-united-kingdom-y-on-y/#:~:text=For%20the%20year%20ending%20December,net%20migration%20figure%20of%20606%2C000.
Much like Labour voters in the late 90s and early 2000s, I do not recognise this party that calls itself Conservative.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I’ll also add that they’ve been far too weak with a lot of things, including protests.
Lockdown but BLM protests are ok
JustStopOil blocking traffic in the streets with little to no consequences
The lunacy of CRT and gender confusion being pandered too.
They’re starting, as they’ve picked up that the majority of the country are waiting for this, to mention common sense this and common sense that. But these types will say anything to anyone to get their vote. I appreciate that it’s always been that way to an extent but the last 25 years say have been a joke and I expect it to continue that way or probably get worse.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Where is CRT taught? This is total BS Satty. You know it but keep echoing this batchit idea that it's taught to children.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Who said anything about teaching SoQ?
But seeing as you brought it up the yougov data discussed in this article would say otherwise:
https://unherd.com/thepost/report-critical-race-theory-is-endemic-in-british-schools/
I know you want it to be bullsheet, as would I. But you know we import practically everything from the US. I really don’t know why you would find it so unlikely that we would import that also.
I think there is quite a lack of quality in teaching in this country (austerity to blame boo hiss) and no doubt that has led to some ideologues in the profession overstepping the mark but that link Sat Nav doesn't really say anything
"Have you encountered these words"... Don't want to sound like Jordan Peterson here but the key word is "encountered" which basically means heard of.
That could come from any angle and with any context it's not at all proof of CRT being taught and I think the author knows this but is looking to bend data to his agenda
https://www.politics.co.uk/news/2023/11/06/70-per-cent-of-conservative-members-believe-nigel-farage-should-be-allowed-to-join-party-survey-finds/
Broad church alert
I've got kids in school and if course they're not 'teaching CRT'.
They're reaching having some awareness, which is a good thing.
Just the usual right wing nonsense, the same types who get upset at vegan sausage rolls and then scream 'snowflake'.

It's not part of the curriculum as far as I'm aware, so what's the issue with it being discussed in a classroom? Schoolkids are taught loads of things that are useless in the real world, RE, semicolons and Pi ffs!

LOL It had never occoured to her that India was also a child's name just like all the other child's names she was ripping into.... for being named after a geographical location.

You reckon a survey of 1500 is indicative of a cohort of over 3 million?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Oh yeah. I just googled "Policy Exchange" which the author of this article is a Senior Fellow of.
First thing to stand out was their idea of protecting the armed forces from prosecution under human rights laws.
So he can F off.
Let me know how that is spun.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Ok he can F off. So now that we’ve done discussing things that I didn’t say in the first place.
What do you think about what I actually said? I assume total agreement seeing as you didn’t mention anything.
Good to agree sometimes 👍🏻
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Oh right. you post about the lunacy of CRT and gender confusion being pandered to. then your link mentions a YouGov survey of 1500 students. Forgive me for thinking you supported this.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
my link about something that I didn't even originally bring up? Something that you brought up?
You're not forgiven SoQ
And yes surveys are quite often in numbers around 1500 - how many do you want them to survey? 1,000,000?
I'll see what bmcl has to say about a sample of 1500 when the question concerns over 3 million people.
Or anyone else who works with stats.

If you want to query yougov and their survey methodology then go right ahead.
But I think their pedigree is well-renowned

----------------------------------------------------------------------
So I brought up CRT? At 4:30 a.m. my time?
You brought it up.
I questioned that.
You countered with a very questionable survey from a far right authority.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
You reckon a survey of 1500 is indicative of a cohort of over 3 million?

I will probably not vote again in the next GE which I don't like to do but it's just a complete mess right now.

my link about something that I didn't even originally bring up? Something that you brought up?
You're not forgiven SoQ
And yes surveys are quite often in numbers around 1500 - how many do you want them to survey? 1,000,000?

I'll see what bmcl has to say about a sample of 1500 when the question concerns over 3 million people.
Or anyone else who works with stats.

If you want to query yougov and their survey methodology then go right ahead.
But I think their pedigree is well-renowned

So I brought up CRT? At 4:30 a.m. my time?
You brought it up.
I questioned that.
You countered with a very questionable survey from a far right authority.
