Jenrick says that gov't must put "the views of the British public above contested notions of International Law" and MPs are "not sent to Parliament to be concerned about our reputation on the gilded international circuit".

Same position as Putin on gay people or Xi on Uyghurs.

My polish friend on Tusk potentially returning as PM

It’s very possible but did t happen yet. This week will show us results as previous/current PM will give his speech tomorrow and either tomorrow or on Tuesday the government will vote if he will remain in the office. Because the majority is agains him, chances are very high for Tusk to return to the PM office.

Whether is good or bad? If you asked my parents they will tell you he’s the worst! In the past he did make few decisions which were more beneficial for EU and the rich. The emigration was at it highest during his previous reign. But it was also time shortly after we joined EU, so many ppl wanted to emigrate anyway.
For me, he’s definitely better than the current PM. Has got better diplomacy skills. But still not perfect.

The Poles have begun to see the disastrous path Western Europe has taken and want to avoid the mistakes. They look to their Hungarian neighbours with Organ, and are thinking this is a better path

Fecks me off that they pretend it's what the public want again. Like they do with everything.

At best polls show it is split and then a majority think it is a waste of money. Its the same as everything nowadays. The over 65s strongly support it, the younger generations oppose it.

Once again we will be dictated to by the blue rinse brigade who have no interest in the long term future. Just vote based on their own prejudices and what they think is in their short term interests.

A manufactured problem, with a unworkable (and quite frankly absurd waste of money) faux solution. All to deflect attention away from real issues facing families across the country.

Correct. If they'd spent the wasted £100's of millions on employing asylum assessors both here and overseas they'd have a far stronger case for immediately deporting those that cross the channel.

High inflation

Low growth

Soaring fuel prices

Sky high energy costs

Record price hikes for vechicle insurance, especially for business users.

A comparatively small number of illegal immigrants is a far bigger cause for concern though.

That's how Tories play the field. They know the priorities of most people, or at home a lot of them.

Shameful! This is who we are now though

"Gen Sir Richard Barrons, who served the British Army in Afghanistan over 12 years, told BBC Newsnight that the failure of the UK to relocate these soldiers "is a disgrace, because it reflects that either we're duplicitous as a nation or incompetent".

"Neither are acceptable," he said. "It is a betrayal, and the cost of that betrayal will be people who served with us will die or spend their lives in prison."

Sunak at Covid enquiry 'sticking to the Tory script ' all day. So many meetings and conversations he 'cannot remember' and lost Whatsapp messages 'on various phones he has owned and discarded' during that time.

It's a feckin disgrace.

PA news agency has reported that 20 Tory MPs are attending a meeting convened by the New Conservatives group to discuss the Rwanda legislation.

It's been held in the office of Danny Kruger, who leads the New Conservative grouping, and started around 18:00.

Former immigration minister Robert Jenrick, who quit the role last week, and former home secretary Suella Braverman are among those attending, PA said.

Other senior MPs at the meeting include Sir Simon Clarke and Sir Jacob Rees-Mogg.

A truly shambolic performance by the detail orientated PM. And we know, all of us, that each of the 29(!) “I don’t recall” translates to “I’m trying to save my own skin so I am willing to lie under oath to an enquiry into the behaviour of government during the most significant crisis in this country since WW2.” He’s truly a stain to the office, and the sooner he’s consigned to the annuls of history, the better.
