Any Londoners suffering under Low Traffic Neighborhoods?
Facking horrible and arbitrary decisions that create haves and have nots sometimes in the same postcode... Was going to blame Sadiq but looks like it's lead by the DoT

Lewis Goodall @lewis_goodall
Yet more evidence from ONS of the profound generational imbalance of the economic effects of the pandemic.
Of the Feb 2020-Feb 2021 annual decrease in employee jobs (down 693,000 overall)
63.1% (437k) were under 25
25.2% (174k) were 25-34
50-64s? Net increase of 32,000 jobs.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
That is disgusting.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Tory Britain fornyou
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Lol which types of jobs do you think are always most at risk during economic downturn-turns?
How many of those jobs are hospitality?
Last in first out? Ever heard of that?
FML the assignment of blame is hilarious
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Do you not see the disgraceful injustice that children face permanent damage from lost education and socialising with peers, young adults face permanent disadvantages in the job and housing market, and the final insult to injury young people will be the last to exit this lockdown, will be stuck in this miserable country while vaccinated elderly can fack off wherever they want, all for a virus that that is a few rough days for almost all children and young adults?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yes I do but I blame the virus and lockdowns.
Young people are more likely to have less secure jobs and to be less qualified and experienced. When things get tight, the weak are the first to go.
The stats posted purely related to jobs and that’s all I’m commenting on and in response to the ever-so predictable blame assigned to the Tories for what is basic and simple to understand.

BREAKING NEWS: Jabs will be COMPULSORY for care home staff: Leaked report says ministers will make vaccinations mandatory for workers in adult social care amid concerns over low take-up after it was revealed that as many as 200,000 NHS and care employees have refused the offer of a jab so far, despite working in close proximity to the vulnerable.
———-
I do find it odd how so many staff have rejected the vaccine even though they’ve seen the devastating effects first hand

Tough one, I agree they should be vaccinated as they’re front line, like my mum never bothers with the flu vaccine or really wants it and isn’t keen but whenever she worked in care homes or a hospital she’d always have it every year for the patients / residents benefit to be on the safe side for them.
I think overall it’s one of them, opens up a whole load of stuff but I would agree that If you work in a hospital or care home it should be mandatory and if you decline then you’ll have to find another industry.

Wasn’t it created to reduce emissions, ease stress on transport and encourage walking & cycling?
Who decides which areas are LTN? I think it’s mostly local councils and if you want more you can contact your local council and ask them.

Low Traffic Neighborhoods is where they make main roads in a borough inaccessible to non residents, the aim is to reduce traffic/ pollution and encourage healthier ways of travel
But in reality traffic just gets shunted to the other roads in the area and creates a lovely pedestrianised utopia for those in the LTN (who can still drive in the area) but a smelly noisey dystopia for surrounded residents
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Interesting, I've not seen any of that around where I live. It's probably more an Inner London thing I would have thought.

A teenager was murdered by her stalker after she reported him to the police five times in a tragic case described as 'avoidable'.
Instead of helping 19-year-old Shana Grice, Sussex Police fined her £90 for ‘wasting police time’ on one occasion.
Shana, a receptionist from Brighton, had begged police to take action against Michael Lane five times over a period of six months in 2016.
But her pleas were ignored, despite him breaking into her home, and he went on to slit her throat before trying to burn her body in August 2016

So many stories coming out about the incompetence of people tasked to protect us since these protests, saw a clip of that drunk off duty policeman the other day harassing that woman and getting off in court for it.

They did very quick and very quiet consultations in my mum's area basically rubber stamping it for the posher bit and putting two fingers up to the rest

Maybe more people in that borough want them for the advantages? I drive so I hate them either way 😂
Looking at those unemployment figures for the young, a question worth asking is why are those age groups working in jobs that don't provide job stability and a good income?
