More people in the UK think immigration has a negative impact on society compared to a positive one, according to a new survey carried out by YouGov exclusively for Sky News.

Across the UK, 43% of people asked thought that immigration has a negative impact on British society, compared to 35% who said it has a positive impact.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Let's give the full picture instead of a cluckbait headline

"And there were clear divides between age groups: 54% of 18 to 24-year-olds think immigration has a positive effect. But among those aged 65 and up, 58% think the impact of immigration on society is negative.

There was a more mixed view on the economic benefits of immigration, with the results pretty even: 39% of respondents thought immigration has a positive impact on the economy, with 37% saying the impact was negative.

But the poll identified a clear gender split, with only 34% of women saying that immigration has had a positive economic impact, compared with 43% of men.

Respondents also thought that cutting immigration would have a negative impact on the NHS, hospitality, universities and social care, but a positive effect on housing.

The survey also revealed deep political distrust among the public, with 52% saying they think Labour are not telling the truth about what they think on immigration, and 49% saying the same thing about the Conservatives. Every region and demographic distrusted the main two parties on this point."

Unsurprisingly its the older generation with mostly negative views on migration. You know the type that hark on about how great things were 'back in my day' whilst telling younger generations 'we didn't have it as tough as they did in their youth.

Let's take a complex issue and boil it down into a straight yes or no / for or against polarised debate.

Pretty standard these days. Polarise the electorate with simplified arguments and then wonder why political discourse is at its lowest levels and far right ideologies become more prominent.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
There’s no doubting that several decades of political failures and subsequent scapegoating and the right wing press incessantly hammering immigrants has taken a serious toll. And not only in the UK.

Wilders has just nominated a woman called Fleur Agema as his Deputy PM. This is a long-standing PVV politician (first elected under that despicable racist Pim) who was a contributing member of a European online forum called Stormfront - an openly and unashamedly neo-Nazzi hub. This is all public record.

Europeans (very much including Brits) and the European political left need to WAKE THE FACK UP as to what is happening, facking sharpish, or we are gonna have the 1930s back in Europe by 2030.

The Overton window has been allowed to slide further and further and further right by politicians across the left, centre, and moderate right pandering to the billionaire scuuum who own the media; and the inevitable result has been complete economic failure, the impoverishment of the working class, the utter dereliction of public services, and the delight of the far and extreme right.

If Starmer and Reeves don’t demonstrate that they’re going to make a very significant difference to the lives and outcomes of the poorest 50% in society, and follow through on that fairly quickly, I can promise you that things will get a lot, lot worse.

3 kids missing since around 3pm yesterday leaving Thorpe Park in Surrey aged 14, 9, and 7.

That's quite a lot of responsibility for the 14 year old, lets hope they are found safe asap.

Yep 14 yr olds are nowhere near that responsable, I wouldn't trust my daughter to take a kid up town let alone on a day trip with 2.

“We do not rule out police action.”

Well, you can’t rule out police action, can you, you prik? Only the police can do that.

Forrage seems to have gotten a little ahead of himself. In his head, he’s already scored electoral victory, crowned himself Grand Führer, and adopted the Met as his own personal Sicherheitspolizei.

It would be a civil matter anyway not criminal. You'd think the former Coutts customer would know this.
