There needs to be an inquiry into postal votes in general.

I didn't receive mine in time for the local elections despite applying 3 weeks before I was due to go away.

In all my years on this planet I’ve never seen so much propaganda as I saw for Reform. They had something like 3.9 billion mentions on social media over the past year. Seeing ‘vote reform’ on almost every post and no shortage of ‘people’ to defend them on practically every tweet or TikTok comment. It really was a triumph for the bot farms,

It's still going.

I've seen quite a few 'Reform 2029' posts/hashtags.

It's weird to say you enjoy voting, I kinda do.

Voting is a political act and not voting or spoiling a ballot paper is a political decision every bit as much as putting your X in a box. Sending an individual message.

What happens if you don't vote? Is there a sanction?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Surely people not voting is a de factor vote for disenfranchisement in the current political environment. Given there is no specific party representing their needs, its seems a legitimate and fair democratic choice and it sends a message to all parties.

Each to their own

How can you not though? He’s pisssedd off all the red Tories and he facked off the likes of Mandelson and Harman. The man is true Labour.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I think he is most likely a genuine nice guy,but imo has zero leadership skills and sadly for this crap world a bit too idealistic to survive in a position of power

Bullsheet.

What an insightful and intelligent response

I saw Dawn Butler doing the rounds about 8am Friday morning and one of the first thing she mentioned was PR and voting reform.
IF there is an appetite it will go to a referendum, the last one didn't show too much appetite for change, 68% of a 48% turn out voted against changing the system.

Of course fewer people backed it when it would benefit sensible parties like the Lib Dems and Greens.

Now that it would benefit lunatics like Reform, people will be all for it.

Looks like they’ve been smashed into third place, and it’ll be a left-green led coalition with the centrists

Definitely; but at least Bardella isn’t going to have any chance to claim he should be given the opportunity to try to form a govt.

Worst comes to the worst and it’s a minority left-green govt with some kind of confidence and supply agreement with Macron’s lot.

Either way, it’s a fantastic example to the rest of Europe of how to show solidarity to lock the fascists out.
