It's the perfect choice. Trump deliberately picks a VP who will defend him but also be unpopular. Then there is no risk of anyone invoking the 25th amendment to replace him. Much like Biden did with Kamala Harris.

Sounds like his views on things like abortion go even further than Trump's and he only won 53% of the vote when he became senator, when his Republican predecessors were all hitting 58-65%.

I see Farage has headed out to the US to support Trump this week. I'm sure the people of Clacton are getting the representation they voted for in parliament.

He's going to miss the King's speech and official opening of parliament to go to America and spend time with Trump.

it's not a great choice in terms of making a pick to secure more votes (e.g. rubio for latins or tim scott for blacks) but it's basically a loyal pick as JD Vance is really good friends with his son

Trump looked like winning anyway but other day should have increased those odds even more, so probably think he doesn't need to do anymore in terms of picking someone to try pick votes up

and to be fair if TikTok is anything to go by, loads of blacks and latino's will be voting for trump anyway as they now say he's one of them and a "real OG"

Also, the rhetoric out of the Trump camp has been to blame the opposition comparing him to Hitler. His picked for VP once said Trump 'might be America's Hitler'.
