Which ironically is totally racist in itself. seems like white people just try to keep jumping on everything to get attention and get likes, was the same the other month with that horse name that in 1800 was a racist term for black people that pretty much nobody had ever heard of and the tweet was just full of black people taking the p!as out the guy and calling him out for trying to tell them what they have to find offensive.

It’s just massively reaching though and looking for racism or offense that doesn’t exist in that tweet, all it’s doing is giving the presumption that anything and everything is racist and turning racism into a farce and making racism look like a joke which it is not

And as usual it wasn’t even a black person that reported it, it was the typical random white dude that tries to get likes and thinks they can tell black people what they have to be offended by

Yeh that’s fair enough mate, I can’t speak for every single black person in the world but certainly from my group of friends they’re just starting to get fed up with people trying to tell them what they have to be outraged about or find offensive the last few years or as one of my mates said “make it look like we have no humour”

Just increases the feeling of division I guess

Perhaps I get what you're saying there Oscar. I think it's a mix though. Anti racism does go over the top sometimes and when that happens it can have the effect you describe, but racism still exists in modern forms.

For lack of a better analogy, think of the police. Sometimes bad elements can abuse their jobs but you can't abolish the police force because of some over the top incidents by some cops. If you do then crime will choke society. Nothing is perfect but the good police do far outweighs any evils that come with having a police force.

Perhaps that's how I see it. They do go over the top sometimes but overall I'd rather have the anti racists "wokesters" than not have them at all.

Wealth isnt finite, it is generated by ingenuity. Most of the wealth would not exist without Amazon.

I would like them to pay more taxes, to treat workers better, and for a more level playing field with independent stores and sellers, but I also think you have to accept consumer costs would increase as part of that deal. So far it is not one the public seems prepared to make.

Well, there are multiple reasons to criticise Amazon. Hired by James Bloodworth is a highly damning book on the subject matter. Being a self-confessed luddite I do also think the trade offs for Amazon’s destruction are actually quite tempting, I am just open about the drawbacks. I have always been honest about my misgivings towards a consumer driven economy.

Same way I am honest that regulations and tax rises on Amazon unless nimbly managed will hit customers the most.

Trade offs is quite right. More people need to be aware of and consider the consequences of such decisions rather than simply pointing at the easy target.
