Khan had told the hearing he wanted to stay in the UK to be a "role model" for his son and "teach him right from wrong".

Both men tried to use human rights laws as reasons not to be removed and said they both had certificates "renouncing" their Pakistani citizenship.
---------------------------------------------------
These are extreme cases but it's what Reform and their ilk lap up to promote withdrawing from the ECHR and what they're truing to push into the public phyche.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Two cases that failed, be about right for the Reform idiots.

I know someone who got kicked out of Australia for working illegally.

Given the choice to leave within 72 hours with ‘Visa Refused’ stamped in his passport and a 3 year ban or fight it with the prospect of getting ‘Deported’ in his passport, a minimum 7 year ban and a hefty fined
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah Australia isn't in Europe champ. Plus your mate got kicked out of Oz for not adhering to the terms of his visa, I assume working on a tourist visa. Pretty sure the UK do the same.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Thanks for that, next you'll be telling me Vietnam and Camdoia aren't in Europe too.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Not seeing what your mate getting kicked out of Oz for being a knobhead has to do with leaving the ECHR.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It was on the general subject of deportation that was part of the conversation you fekin dimwit.

What's more, he overstayed his visa years ago and worked as an alternative to being on benefits in the UK.

He was given the first option because he had paid tax and hadn't been in trouble with the police.

However, I'll convey your thoughts to him.

"Rochdale grooming gang members LOSE deportation appeal"

And starts

"Two members of the Rochdale grooming gang have lost an appeal against deportation after a seven-year legal battle.
Adil Khan, 51, and Qari Abdul Rauf, 52, were told they would be sent back to Pakistan after release from jail for the public good.
They were both convicted of a catalogue of childsex offences in May 2012.
Immigration judges ruled their challenge against deportation on human rights grounds had failed."

Much ado about nothing. So they're actually being deported. But some mugs are still whinging. What TF is wrong with these people?

Right, that was probably a misunderstanding over who won and who failed.

My point is that the Right are pushing a narrative that most cases are successful and will pinpoint the few that are.

Frivolous cases like the above should be thrown out at an early stage to save time money and they were frivolous when you read the details of their crimes.

"The appeal was heard at an immigration tribunal in June with a decision made in August, but judges have only just released their legal ruling."

It took two months from hearing to decision.

You hear about other trials for sexualoffences taking years by comparison, if they get to court.

How would leaving the ECHR help this?

Examples of the UK government fackin up would surely bolster the case for staying with the ECHR.

Exactly but it still needs fine tuning which might meet some resistance after Brexit.

Labour aren't going to leave the ECHR and there won't be a referendum, it's all just bluster for Bobby Brownenvelope to gather like-minded loolahs behind him as he tries to take the leadership of that failed party and for grifter talking heads on fringe TV and radio shows to rail against something with 'europe' in its name.

All so pathetic.

Fine tuning needs to be done on the basis of how it addresses legitimate concerns and serves the majority, not worrying about isolated incidents that far right morons are angry about, particularly concerning England, that usually have little to do with the laws of the ECHR.

Yeah this is all prefaced on the Tories getting back into power and Jenrick being PM. Then there's the question can we trust them to establish new rights?

5 minutes of watching GBN will confirm that.

They emphasize the word 'European' with real venom then treat it as an EU conspiracy specifically designed to bring the UK down.

I’ve really never understood this line. We’ve done a bloody good job of that all by ourselves, we don’t need EU conspiracies to bring us down.

Not according to GBN.

Britain is generally faultless, Truss was a pioneer and Johnson lead us through Covid only for Starmer, immigrants and mainly the EU to basically sabotage 14 year of good work.

I thought that point had passed when he literally added more space junk in the form of his car, and the Twitter Flat Earth community said it was CGI. Mind-numbingly, he still bought Twitter for way overvalue.
