"And you simply wouldn’t accept anything you associate with being Tory in any event, based purely on their political choice. Kind of makes your responses ready made and void does it not?"

Not based on their actions over 14 years of power undermining any credibility they have?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I don’t recall being in power

However
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I didn't say you were, read it again

And yes if you voted Tory in July then don't expect to be taken seriously.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

If not in power, how could I possibly be read as being responsible somehow for someone else’s actions? Do you think people just blindly agree with one political position?

That was a silly question for you do ignore it.
And I don’t expect to be taken seriously by anyone who is simply far too blinkered to understand the concept of other viewpoints or debate.

That issue lies with you I’m afraid but as ever I don’t expect you to even consider if.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Read the quote and my question underneath again

I didn't say you were responsible
----------------------------------------------------------------------

You haven’t asked a question
----------------------------------------------------------------------
FFS Ginge

You claimed someone won't accept anything associated with the Tories because of their political choice.

I asked isn't this more down to 14 years of lies, corruption, rule breaking etc etc?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Ah. I thought that was more of a statement. My apologies.

Understand where you’re coming from now but I would answer in that many many Conservative supporters were sickened by the actions of far too many of their politicians for all the reasons you mention but also because they were taking us nowhere. I was and am one of those disillusioned and equally disgusted supporters.

Then there are many supporters who just didn’t want a Labour government and instead didn’t vote or turned to Reform. Whatever, the incumbent party had to be removed and they certainly were.

I would contest that you can’t just label someone based purely on voting for a political party and sensibly just ignore any comments because of that simplistic generalisation. There are decent Conservative supporters in the country just as much as there are of other parties. Their views differ and thank goodness for that. It’s why we have a parliament where challenges can be made.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
If you voted for 5 more years of Tory after the last 14 years of austerity, Brexit, lies, bullying, corruption, scandal and sleaze then don't act perplexed if your political opinion isn't taken seriously.

This is a trait I notice running through the Tory party, from numerous PM's through to the voters. No matter how much they fack things up, from Brexit to Covid onwards, never take responsibility, act contrite or admit culpability.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
😂 I know you’re a wool but why do scousers keep voting Labour considering they’ve had the likes of Derek Hatton and Joe Anderson running their City? Scousers are sheep, they keep voting Labour no matter how bad they are.

I find it funny that they tell themselves this.

Sometimes I get CVs where people score themselves out of ten on things like communication. That’s also funny.

Why? You just said Ginger is decent enough when he's a hardcore battle hardened Tory that is an absolutely warrior and patriot. Should have seen him during Brexit and BLM. Very decent.

So called decent Tories had plenty chances to appoint a PM that wasn't a car crash who facked everything from the referendum to the pandemic to the economy up.

Now they wonder why criticism of Labour is being laughed at and treated as disingenuous and hypocritical. The lack of self awareness is real.

As bad as Twitter has become it’s still the only place on the internet with bang up to date news and access to information as it happens. I’m just hoping it gets taken away from Musk at some point and restored to its once greatness.

It's losing that though too many bots and blue tick spammers makes it hard to get anything worth reading when a story is developing

It used to be the best way of working out why Moorgate station is shut again

Yeah, let them come back after 10 years.

Should give the Tories enough time to evolve into an electable outfit to provide competent opposition.

Problem with that is that it isn’t necessarily accurate, as we saw with the Southport riots.

Maybe news outlets that take time to verify information before reporting it have their place.

There's no point in even interacting with tweets anymore.

Used to be you'd see the most liked/retweeted comment underneath, now it's just blue tick bots or po0rn.

EXC: Labour has softened its stance on China's treatment of the Uyghurs ahead of David Lammy's trip

It has dropped plans to push for China's treatment of the Uyghurs to be formally declared genocide, and says this is a matter for international courts

https://www.theguardian.com/world/2024/oct/17/labour-backtracks-genocide-ruling-china-uyghurs-lammy-visit

This bloke has got to be the most useless foreign secretary of all time.

It’s a bit of an oxymoron if we’re honest.

Hi, I’m going to vote for a Government that demonstrably lies, cheats and hurts the most vulnerable people in our society, however, I’m also a decent person.

Just so happens they tax me less but hey ho.

I’ll ignore your first paragraph as it’s petty to be honest and simply continues this hogging of the thread you accuse me of.

On the second however. Highest taxes since the war I think you’ll find. But don’t let that confuse things.

As far as I’m concerned I wish instead of phannying around and dancing on pin heads with semantics that this government would just raise income tax for those with the broadest shoulders as they term it.

posted 1 day, 2 hours ago

Actually. It wasn’t you who accused me of that

Apologies

ffs
