As for the Conservatives being “my” party then yes they’re the party I usually vote for but once again you resort to insults when discussion appears to elude you. I’m more than happy to discuss, criticise and even congratulate where I feel it is due and if you’d maybe taken a breather and looked at many of my posts instead of resorting to this form of banter, you’d have seen that I’ve stated quite clear my thoughts on “my party” and as to why they should (and were) swiftly removed from office.

That doesn’t mean I won’t criticise Labour politicians now when I feel it is necessary. You disagree and that’s fine. Maybe try arguing your points instead of the lazy stereotyping too many indulge upon on this thread.

As for the insults; I’ve got very broad shoulders and mostly laugh it off. Everyone has their limits though so when you throw up a ret&rd gif and then follow it up with “simpleton”; it tends to make you look blinkered, angry and devoid of any rational thought. The fact you said you’ve used it often isn’t exactly a great standpoint of defence either.

Just my opinions of course.

Raising taxes on sales of shares. Great move and long overdue. Needs to be at the right level to ensure that tax revenues from this source continue to flow and increase which I believe is the idea.

Understand where you’re coming from now but I would answer in that many many Conservative supporters were sickened by the actions of far too many of their politicians for all the reasons you mention but also because they were taking us nowhere. I was and am one of those disillusioned and equally disgusted supporters.

Then there are many supporters who just didn’t want a Labour government and instead didn’t vote or turned to Reform. Whatever, the incumbent party had to be removed and they certainly were.

I would contest that you can’t just label someone based purely on voting for a political party and sensibly just ignore any comments because of that simplistic generalisation. There are decent Conservative supporters in the country just as much as there are of other parties. Their views differ and thank goodness for that. It’s why we have a parliament where challenges can be made.

If you voted for 5 more years of Tory after the last 14 years of austerity, Brexit, lies, bullying, corruption, scandal and sleaze then don't act perplexed if your political opinion isn't taken seriously.

This is a trait I notice running through the Tory party, from numerous PM's through to the voters. No matter how much they fack things up, from Brexit to Covid onwards, never take responsibility, act contrite or admit culpability.
