Arguing w/strangers cause I'm lonely thread

No one here is going to change their mind on this, so in many senses it’s pointless commenting.

But I feel obliged to say, how sad that people are so entrenched in their views that they regard anyone who votes for another political party as ‘not a decency person’.

Whatever the ills of UK society, we are fortunate to live in a democratic country where the political process is respected.

There’s no real extreme in either of the two main parties and whilst there are things that many of us don’t like about certain policies or individuals, broadly the system works.

There are many, many things that motivate people to vote for any given party. And there’s no definitive answer to which party’s policies would be best for the long term outlook of the country. In truth, you almost certainly need the balance of both.

In any one election, tens of millions of people will vote for one of those parties. I know conservative voters who are good people in any reasonable definition of the word.

The idea we can just discard any individual who votes of one of the main parties as lacking any decency is frankly absurd, and speaks more to the individual making that comment than it does about anyone else.

But as I say, this is social media, so I wouldn’t expect anyone to change their mind on this. They’ll just keep repeating the same thing. And there in lies part of the problem.

I’ll ignore your first paragraph as it’s petty to be honest and simply continues this hogging of the thread you accuse me of.

Well that where you’re going wrong

When UNICEF are releasing reports into child poverty in Britain, but the Government is lying and saying it’s getting better, and you STILL vote for them then you’re a piece of sh!t I’m afraid.

Ditto austerity wiping out £150k vulnerable people, if you’re voting FOR that, you are indeed an absolute piece of sh!t.

That’s how it works FYI.

How did that WMD war go btw? Under a Labour sop of a PM? See how ludicrous those points are?

There’s a big world out there. Take off those blinkers and explore some of it and talk to people from all walks of life and beliefs. You’ll learn a lot.

Shall I just create a process map whereby you just end up thinking voting FOR these people is okay? It might save us some time.

Actually with my flight being delayed for about 5 hours since this morning we’re hopefully anout to get on our way now.

Some clown decided to refuel the original plane via a wing outlet instead of the fuel tank. Bit silly I think and quite dangerous too id imagine. Must have been someone who voted Labour in the past I’m guessing.

Anyways, I digress. It gives you quite a bit more time to prepare this map. Looking forward to it.

Oh dear. And you promised too

To be honest it sounds a bit of a silly Venn diagram as none of those things can be levied at me. Maybe some of “my people” but I’d hold no truck with them.

Here’s an idea. Send it into Admin. He can then send it on to me and I’ll critique it. I promise to return positive feedback for your next attempt.

Maybe more could join in and make it a competition with prizes and medals. What’s your thoughts on that?
