If this increase doesn’t affect the “working man” (definitions on a postcard please), why are working public sector employees protected from this?

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Not quite following your logic there, Ginge.

You could protect “working people” in both the public and private sectors from NI increases and also protect public sector *employers* from NI increases.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Because the GVT want to protect sectors such as the NHS, Education etc which is under threat because they are haemorrhaging valued and needed, time served, qualified staff, who are actually the bedrock of our society. It's called responsible government trying to fix things. You have probably forgotten about that being a Tory.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You think I’m a Tory?
----------------------------------------------------------------------Well of course you are. Unless yiou shifted to Reform. You have been arguing their corner daily (Mail) since the GE on here. Are you wasting our time on this thread now?

It would appear you can’t be a “working man” if you are protected by your employer on NIEC as a public body.

So, essentially it’s only privately or self employed individuals who are being hit.

The ones who create the economy. What logic there eh?

What are you on about lad?

I don’t understand your first sentence at all. Please help. Taxes on business entities are being raised. Not on individuals.

As to “the ones who create the economy”, labour is what creates added value, not capital. Value can be added without capital. Economies can exist without entrepreneurs. They can’t exist without workers.

And don’t self-employed individuals currently pay less NI than employees? Do we even know they’re going to be impacted?

posted 3 days, 23 hours ago

No real point raising NI for the public sector if they're funded with public money anyway.

You will be telling us your rich wealth creators are all going to leave the country next (it says so in the Daliy Mail so its just a matter of time). They say this every time Labour get in. Apparently the last one out has to switch out the light.

But actually dont.

Joe Rogan gives Trump the opportunity to prove his false claim that the 2020 election was stolen, he can’t and instead pivots to Hunter Biden’s laptop. In a classic moment, Trump slips and says “I lost”, and Joe Rogan laughs in his face.

The 11-year-old recalled waking up Monday to the sound of gunshots. When she looked outside her bedroom door, she saw her father, Mark Humiston, with blood on his head and her 9-year-old brother with blood in his mouth – both laying on the floor of the hallway, according to court documents.

When her 7-year-old sister walked out of their shared bedroom, the 11-year-old said she heard another gunshot, before seeing her younger sister fall to the floor, the documents say.

She told investigators the shooter then came to her bedroom and fired his weapon once or twice, hitting her hand and neck.

Despite the pain she felt from the bullet’s impact, the 11-year-old told authorities she recognized the weapon. It was her father’s silver Glock handgun, court documents say. And she recognized the shooter, too. It was her 15-year-old brother, she said.

Their mother, Sarah Huminston, and their 13-year-old brother had been shot and killed elsewhere in the house, authorities said.

Mark and Sarah Humiston were home schooling their children, and were very active in the community, neighbors told KING.
