Bad in terms of Covid or bad in terms of politics?

Both, according to reports from France on ICU admission in hospitals, 20 million in New lockdown restrictions and 40 per cent of French people refusing the vaccine.

But the United States has now hit nearly 11,000 confirmed cases of variants, including those first identified in the UK, South Africa and Brazil.
NEW The Commission on Race and Ethnic Disparities, set up by Boris Johnson in the wake of the Black Lives Matter protests, concluded that although Britain is not yet a 'post-racial society', its success should be a model for white-majority countries. Commission chairman Tony Sewell (inset) said the UK had progressed into a 'successful multi-ethnic and multicultural community' which was a 'beacon to the rest of Europe and the world'. He warned ministers must also consider the needs of the white working class, saying his report had uncovered how 'stuck' some groups were. The landmark review found children from many ethnic minorities do as well or better at school than white pupils, which was creating fairer and more diverse workplaces. It called on firms to phase out 'unconscious bias' training because other approaches were needed to 'advance fairness in the workplace'.

Arlene Foster has once again stated she will move to Britain if reunification takes place. She does not feel Irish in any way whatsoever despite born in Ireland to Irish parents. She says she's British despite having no direct links to England, Scotland or Wales, amazing. The Chief Constable of the PSNI laughed at her today. I sincerely hope the nutters that follow the DUP take the ferry too, we don't have any need or want for them. Britain should welcome them "home" to a new home tbh.

I grimly predict that, without having even read the report, the usual suspects from the Runnymede Trust and BLM-adjacent groups like RACE will come out and call it a government stitch up.
We should also anticipate various activists on social media to not just dismiss the report, but to call Munira Mirza and Thomas Sewell race-traitors as they every time a conservative-leaning person of colour expresses a view contrary to their orthodoxies.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Aaah Runnymede lol desperately looking for systemic racism everywhere.
Poor Thomas Sowell 😂
The racist Hoover institute just gave Sowell a pay hike. Maybe this year he'll do two books instead of one.
It's ok for Thomas Sowell to call human rights campaigners "race hustlers" and all the other names he calls them. That's ok.
But if you call Sowell a "race traitor"? Oh that's so bad, isn't it?
There's double standards and then there's this bullsheet. Sowell has gotten rich and engorged with the Hoover institutes money. He writes a book or two every year, bought by the same guys every year. He's the greatest most successful race hustler of all but those so inclined don't see it like that.
He calls them "race baiters". Imagine that?
Sowell is a genius. He's the one who is race baiting and his victims can't figure it out. Telling racists what they want to hear in exchange for money and book sales. Shameless. You can see why he is idolised by racists.
I see the English Defence League is still talking about me on their echo chambers. I thought you filtered me so you could carry on with your lives.
Can I just say vague references to “the left” or “the right” aren’t particularly helpful on this thread IMO. On both left and right of centre on whatever measure you use there are extremes at either ends, but by throwing accusations to “the left” or “the right” it conflates those reasonable people we have on this thread, centre left and centre right, in with the extremes, which I think by in large we don’t have on this thread.
I don't believe in left and right myself but it's so prevalent in society that it's hard not to use that reference.

Hector stop deflecting. The Left has shown zero support for hum or liberal values and the unions are backing up the mob. So far we have generic calls for calm, no support for him for teaching the facking syllabus. Incidentally the unions get lessons from MEND a crackpot Muslim activist group.
See the problem yet?
Happy to have as many chats as you like about Gaming Williamson incompetence but at least he actually commits to freedom of speech .
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The problem as I see it is lack of leadership from the government, weasel words from the minister don't solve the issue, only action does that.
Blaming the union rather than the employer is pathetic imo, if he was, as you say, just teaching the syllabus why isn't he back at work? If its a fear of reaction from the mob, what are the police doing?
A more cynical mind than mine might suggest that the reason the teacher isn't back at work is a political move to fire up the outraged, stoke the woke and the oppo reactionary because apparently it works.
If you are genuinely angry, why vent your fury at "the left" and not at the employers, both in the school and at the DoE, who have a duty of care to the teacher and his students? You're just opening yourself up to accusations of partisanship.
