Any Win Over Derby Is Good

Yes a great win, away from home too!

Sounds like a good game and a deserved win. Without wishing to be in anyway ungracious, last night someone did point out that the average age of the Derby line-up was 14 years, the forest team a bit more experienced.....

Mmmmmm both First Team Managers were there watching the game, so I suspect that both teams played strong teams.

Nope, not one first teamer starting or on the bench for us.

Forest had 5

We're actually using our U23 to get the U23's playing; we don't need to play at being flat-track bullies by using half the team as ringers just to register a win over our rivals as we've already ticked that box convincingly.

Don't think we do thanks Will - we seem very relaxed about it. It's RFB that has been getting over excited by it. "I suspect that both teams played strong teams." What a buffoon!

I wouldn’t have minded going to the game, but I have no reason to go to the fetid dump that is Derby, anymore.

It is though, further proof, if proof were needed that Forest are a team on the up playing scintillating football.

The experienced players were needed to keep our progress under wraps, reduce the humiliation doled out and afford Derby a convenient and lazy excuse for losing.

Good night all round.

How long is it since you last beat us at anything? Mills must have thought it strange not to be on the losing side.

Think we can see who is getting over excited. 😐

I don't think we'll be losing any sleep over this.
Derby's u23s, with the occasional addition of a couple of first team players, have already beaten the likes of Man U, Liverpool, Spurs & Wolfsburg in the last couple of months.
Losing against Forest Reserves will be shown to be mere blip in their progress this season. Normality will be restored when we go back to playing teams who play these games in the right spirit, by using them for their developing young players, rather than giving match time to those who have been dropped from the first team.

Forest looked the better side to me. Derby looks a much better side v Forest Adults. Would like us to get Zak Clough. He is wasting his talent at the Chitty Ground.

Forest were the better team last month, we've covered this before. We played the better football but that doesn’t always win games (See QPR v Sheep, Wembley some short time ago)

Vydra's goal was the latest fluke in an omnibus Christmas-special-esque catalogue of flukes he always manages against Forest. The rest of the time he's kept in a stasis chamber with all the other aliens.

And every goal Nugent scores is a fluke by definition, because Nugent is some form of cucumber, the kind whose tail you cut off but he grows another head.
The fact that the Sheep were arthritically crap actually makes it worse that we managed to lose.

But as I’ve said, no need to discuss again

I'm sure a box of Kleenex would be better for RFB....

Forest wouldn't be the better team against a team of two year olds. Why, because they are Forest and anything associated with them, be it the team, fans, ground is automatically inferior, by deifinition.

Trophies won:

Derby 4
Forest 13

Historic average league position:

Derby 23.18
Forest 20.92

Head-to-head

Derby 38
Forest 39

There is no meaningful way Derby can claim to be superior to Forest.

Facts are objective, everything else is subjective.

We're [or should be] discussing last nights U23 Cup game spurt.

We are very close in the table, Derby are having to sell their better players for song to avoid FFP and have a idiot owner, rather like we did.

The big difference between the two clubs is the quality of our Football Academy and the consistant stream of high quality young players who graduate into our First Team Squad.

You raise a good point Bear.
Derby are so much in our shadow, they are resorting to copying Forest’s farcical mismanagement, which is well and truly behind us.

We did warn them at the time, if promotion doesn’t come this year, more of the family silver (sorry bad taste) will have to be sold.
Crowds are plummeting, discontent is rising and who will follow last seasons best players, Tom Ince and Will (Barcelona) Hughes out of the club?

Worrying times ahead.

How’s Derbys academy getting on?
Any pushing for first team action? It’ll be important to you very soon

Has anyone mentioned we have several highly - rated u23’s away on loan playing league football and doing very well.

Not to mention our keeper who was away on international duty. Meanwhile Notts Farce feild 5 ringers.

So you scraped an U23 win against your larger neighbors. Was there a lap of honour? When’s the open top bus tour through the city centre?

We appear to be above you with a game in hand. We beat you the last time we played you. Is all this because Forest are better than Derby?

Frail old body Strett, happy to challenge you to a 10k sometime. Maybe it will get rid of the fat round your gut but probably not the fat between your ears.
