When Wenger came and revolutionised Arsenal, who then moved to the Emirates, there was lots of talk in the media of a predicted period of dominance ala United and Liverpool, when the ground is paid off it was said, you'd compete for the best players and they'd all want to come
I guess no one reckoned on the likes of abramovic and the sheikh
Suprised why so many united fans are annoyed about this article
-------------------------------
Not annoyed about it at all. I just genuinely think it is complete nonsense.
If you don't think there was talk of a powershift in Manchester when City came into their money, I can only assume you were living in a cave.
Maybe it doesn't get talked about much anymore because it isn't really debatable. Much as it pains me to say it, city are a better team and have been for the past 4 years.
You are moaning about a complete non-issue here.

Ace still hurting after yesterday I see
I'm not wenger biggest fan and the first one to criticize the team. However I just find the power shift garbage associate to every north London derby a bit comical now

There is obviously an agenda against arsenal. What's comforting is that most sensible fans I talk to, the non vocal majority, realise this.
There was no "years without a trophy" count for any other team before or since we won a trophy. I remember the count starting at 4 years for us. We were derided for being happy to get top four but now when spurs do it apparently they have had a brilliant season. When we win a trophy it's "only the fa cup" despite us having to beat the champions in the final, and city in the semi
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I think there is an agenda against Arsenal. The best thing to shut them all up is to keep winning games.
To the NLD. Think we won the game with comfort. That was suprising. Arrogant Spurs players like their fans believed their own hype and paid for their arrogance.

That as well
So one Mickey Mouse league cup in the last 20 years is expected for a club like Spurs?

I have openly admitted that Spurs are catching us up but the media are obsessed with trying to push the agenda of an apprent "power shift" in north London

The OP is clearly a nonce
Arsenal are expected to win trophies or at least challenge for the EPL titles, considering their revenues and wages being handed to their players. The same goes for Man City, Man Utd and Chelsea. Spurs on the other hand are punching above their weight considering their budget. You got to give to Spurs for handing their youngsters a chance to develop and turn them into very good players.
Out of all the derbies in the premiership, why is it only the north London derby that gets pundits and fans talking about a power shift?
--------------------------------------------
No...It is all about timing
Maybe because you already played the derby yesterday and it is still a hot debate?
Why don't you wait till 12-Dec when both Manchester sides run their derby...then the hot debate shifts up north.
The reason Arsenal get more stick for not winning trophies isn't necessarily the club, it's because of Wenger. Had the manager been changed several times the media would have seen this as an attempt to change things up when they are not working. Whether it would have resulted in trophies or not, is a different debate. Pj
Tottenham have got no power, they've got their strong beliefs

Honestly, no sane person thinks this. Not even the arsenal fans I play football with. I’ve genuinely not heard a single person play down the FA cup. Quite the ppposote, it’s acknowledged you won it the hard way.
There was no year count for arsenal until it got close to 10 years without under the same manager. That was a story whether you like it or not.
Liverpool last won a trophy in 2012 and if in 8 years time Klopp is still manager and pot-less there’ll be a count on him too.
Some people are so paranoid. Put the hash pipe down mate.
It's ridiculous how much conspiracy is against Arsenal from the media on a serious note. FA too are involved.
