Now Starc rips da Stoneman..
Stoneman gone along with a review.
Fact taker what do you think would have happened if Stokes was in England squad for all Ashes test matches?Someone I know said that England would have won if they had Stokes,do you agree?
The difference in this series is the Aussie bowlers, England have no express pace and our bowlers are less suited to these pitches. This will be why Australia will win the series with reasonable ease.
Rain came at the right time. Time to show some backbone and ensure do not lose from here. Even with a draw here I fear Perth could be a massacre. Is wood fit? Could do with him backing up broad and Anderson in Perth. Might even pick crane too as moeen been nothing better than a pie chucker here. Harsh on overton but would have to make way for a spinner. Moeen stays in the team as a batsman.
Looks like it will be 2-0 Australia
Its looking ominous. This isn't a great australia side by any means, and yet they are noticably better in all departments so far

As I said earlier that Stokes could have made huge difference but still englund would need some luck to win any games in this Ashes series. In brief, englund’s bowling ain’t that good and Aussies have showed that they bat deep. All that talk of englund’s long tail was big hogwash.
England’s bowling only works in England, maybe SA too as you don’t need pace there too, as long as the conditions are good for Seam and swing. After watching these 2 matches, stockes would have made no difference. If England’s top bowlers are struggling stockes is only an all rounder
Cant believe those two overules for LBW given by the umpires at 246 -5 but overruled by the computer
don't think either ball would of continued rising, and niether did the umpire, total bs
i want to know why bayliss wants the mic turned off
sledging in ashes is standard he shud know by now.
Bunch of spinless morons.. The biggest issue with England. The likes of Vince and Ballance have giantic technique problems. and ARE NOT. international standard. Ballance will get the nod in the next game. Mooen is not a first choice spinner. But to BACK OUR POOR BATTING LINE UP. he plays as the second spinner.. AND EVEN THOUGH WE HAVE A LONG BATTING LINE UP. we fail to get over 300 every single time. The only reason we beat SA is because of our bowling...Englands batting line up is a JOKE.
Invariably home side wins today. Standard of cricket is at all time low.
This has been atrocious. Fair play to Woakes and Overton for getting the score up and making it less shambolic than it potentially could have been. The follow on score being discussed is painful, the Aussies aren't going to enforce it, they will bat another 3 sessions and lead by 450/500 or something and then put us in again and bowl us out in 2 sessions.
England’s team has been a pretty one dimensional team that only works in England. You basically don’t have a spinner in the team. Moeen Ali who averages in the mid 40s cannot be considered a spinner at all. In India we used to have Sehwag and tendulkar occasionally role their arms and pick a few wickets here and there. Here the difference is Ali does it more often but rarely gives England the breakthrough in tough bowling conditions.
Jimmy gets Bancroft! It's good conditions for our bowlers right now but we're already so far behind.
Get it fuller, the conditions are absolutely perfect and we're being wasteful. Pitch it up and nip a couple more out before Woakes and Overton come on.
It's not going to be enough to change the course of this match but lets make them feel uncomfortable by the end of the day.
Good to see Bancroft put in his place at least
Broad and Anderson with the new ball have been seen off for 35/1. Australia will be happy with that, I don't think they'll look to add runs too quickly. They will just want to grind us down even more so we're drained whilst trying to save the test.
Oh no, Jimmy stayed on and kept going and has been rewarded with a second wicket. Great effort from him so far
Woakes gets Warner! Maybe they should have enforced the follow on? The ball is still doing a bit, if we can get Smith tonight then the morale will be a lot higher than it was an hour ago.
GET IN!
woakes having a cracking spell here. I expected more from him his series than the opening test gave us. but warner and smith on one series of overs is a major haul, not to mention handscombe getting dropped
