Rooney's complete game was unbelievable, strength, speed, control, finishing, aggression, closing down, played out wide, played through the centre, no 10, no 9, his creativity. Mbappe doesn't come close (yet).

When Mbappe has achieved what Rooney has, then bull him up

Albeit Rooney at 19, Mbappe isnt doing anything like the below. Caveat being I've only seen a few of his games for Monaco and PSG in the Champions League:

Rooney hadn't either at his age, though Mpbappe won the league with Monaco, Rooney won nothing whilst at Everton. Now that he has moved to PSG, he could win the CL too !!!

To be honest watching those goals he was probably a better forward than 90% of premier league players in todays game. The biy was a phenomenon. That's not to mention his impact creating goals and carrying that United team at the time.

Rooney was fantastic at 18, the problem was he didn't seem to develop into the player many felt he could have, especially when players like Messi and Ronaldo (both of similar age) did continue to develop and became far better players.

Didn’t Mbappe score in every round of the CL last season until Monaco’s exit?

Don’t remember Rooney doing that at 18.

Mbappe has 9 goals in 15 CL games overall.

Rooney got 8 in his first 23 games at a time when English teams were dominating Europe and he didn’t get his 9th goal until he was 22. Mbappe hasn’t even turned 19 yet.

Rooney scored a hat trick on his CL (Man United) debut.

Mbappe scored against Juventus, Dortmund, Man City last season. Home and away against the latter two.

So have United finally given up on trying to pass off Rashford as better? It's now Rooney at that age.

Where have United said that?

He scored a 25/30 yarder to win the game against the European champions that season. He was part of a United team that performed the worst any United side had in 10 years to that point.

Besides at least two of those goals are tap ins. Technically he is no where near as good as Rooney.

Rooney was pretty inconsistent until about 2006, he blew hot and cold for Everton and at the start with United. It was obvious he was going to be a world class player, but nostalgia paints his teenage years like he was displaying Euro 2004 form every week, which wasn't the case.
