very disappointed with ndaiye.
if he thinks what he had to put up with was worth giving out a head butt and a forceful push risking what should have been a red card well then he is a liability.

If Costa doesn't start to play like we know he can, then we should offload in Jan. Frustrating as feck to watch at the minute

He's gone for five days. Yes, five.

Do think there’s a decision to make over Costa who we know is an outstanding talent. He has been eased back to match fitness and over the last few weeks he has given cameo performances showing he is ready. Then yesterday he looked decidedly rusty because of lack of game time. We need to give him a couple of starts soon because there surely can be no doubt h is one of our best players and whoever is left out just needs to accept the rotation in the best interest of the squad

Have always thought, and still think, that intrinsically Costa is a much better footballer than Cavaleiro. I think the time has come, against Sunderland, to give him a start. With Cav on the bench we would have little to lose.

Jota, Costa and Cavaleiro all need to play for 90 minutes but obviously that is not possible so the solution is obvious. In successive games:
Start Jota & Costa, sub Cav for Jota on the hour
Start Cav & Jota, sub Costa for Cav on the hour
Start Cav & Costa, sub Jota for Costa on the hour
In that way all 3 get a full 90 minutes, a 60 minute game and a 30 minute cameo every 3 games.
This also has the added advantage that the bruises on Jota's legs have a bit more time to heal.

It is a miracle that teams have yet to be successful in kicking Jota out of a game. Cant help feeling its just a matter of time considering how much he gets targeted. Certainly over the xmas period you can imagine the forwards getting rotated, but to me Sunderland at home is an ideal time to give Costa a start

Here is a perfect example of how sensation seeking journalists take someone's words out of context to twist their meaning and get a reaction. You can't read the 'quotes' by Steve Cotterill in the above link without feeling a certain amount of irritation. However, if you read his actual words quoted below it would be hard to disagree.

Birmingham City manager Steve Cotterill told BBC Sport:

"Our second-half performance deserved something. But we're not full of goals and Wolves have a front three that are.

"We were up against three players who are close to double figures or past it, and we knew we'd need to be at our best. But it seems like every time we've made a mistake, we've been punished.

"I've seen Wolves take teams apart this season, but they didn't do that to us. I thought they were average tonight."

We didn't play well in the last hour of the game. I think the absence of Neves is part of the explanation of that but I have lost count of the number of times when the general view of a game has been 'we won but we weren't at our best today'. Truth is this Wolves team tend not to dominate games. Only the Villa home game was a real 90 minute performance. But we do tend to totally outplay the opposition for 30 minutes every game and because of the quality in the team that's proving to be enough to win games. And lets not forget that good teams know how to defend as well as attack, and our back three were excellent last night, albeit against a weak attack. But given that we aren't often the better team for more than half a game you can see why Nuno keeps saying there is still plenty of room for improvement.

You have to give the opposition some credit as well, this is the Championship and teams will fight to get back in to the game, we may move them around and get them out of position and chasing, but eventually they tend to get a grip of the game by fair means or foul, find their shape and press our defense. Thankfully we have a very good defense and despite a few lapses we've managed to keep things pretty tight at the back.

Happens to the best of sides, I cant think of many sides that could dominate every match for 90 minutes week in week out.

Exactly it, no surprise that a team trailing a game has a spell of pressure but ultimately we control proceedings for the most part regardless of whether we are driving forward or not, far more to football than just getting into the box which is similar to another favourite past time.....

Well this thread seems to have run it's course. Not much more to be said about the Blues game so as Nuno would say now it is time to focus on the next one.
