It is, and when it came for you to discuss how VVD had elevated LFC, you disappeared.

What you write is unfathomable. I won the discussion and moved on, however after glancing back I noticed that several people would weirdly revisit the scene of my victory and put their little emoji symbols on it, hence why I popped back to just reconfirm the situation.

I think the fact you are resorting to rather low quality ad hominem 'jokes' about my correctly descriptive username, rather demonstrates that you've basically conceded the argument, and now time has passed I'm glad the truth in my post has been largely borne out.

From the OP "In my opinion, the way Klopp sets up his teams makes defending very challenging for any defender, and the pressure (due to energetic and swift attacking) that they are often placed under makes it difficult for any defensive player to be consistently good."

I think a fair argument would be that the article flies in the face of what's been the most successful tactic of recent times. Used although with their own unique styles by both Klopp and Pep Guardiola (among others) and that is defending from the front.

I get where the author is coming from as logically you might expect defenders to end up being exposed high up field but it's just not the case when the press is implemented properly.

Examples of exposed defending happen more at sides like at Arsenal and United where often players aren't well drilled and it ends up with some pressing and some dropping off meaning the opposition has the space and time to expose the defense.

Finally, someone with a decent sense of perspective and an ability to make a rational and well reasoned point. I think that is fair comment and I accept that. I also suggest that this same line of reasoning that as an individual, VVD is less important than the successful implementation of the planned system for the team as a whole. VVD hasn't been liverpools best centre back this season, but things still aren't looking bad for the team.

I think you're still being harsh on the player now. He's definitely been a huge and crucial part of the successful side Klopp has assembled. Tactically Klopp got it spot on but as part of the team VVD has not only elevated his own game but the whole teams

The previous comment had next to no value, but yours has none at all. Quite hard to do. In a weird way, you should be proud of that (though obviously you shouldn't, as it was rubbish).

Fits well on a nonsense article like this one. You shouldn't expect comments with value on what is likely the biggest sharticle this site has ever seen.
