No smoke without fire and all that. But we shall see in the coming days.

Be interesting to see how you feel about racism if he is found guilty and if you still want him at your club.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

A desperate attempt to divert attention from your club’s meteoric decline into mediocrity, epitomised by the arrival of Allerdyce and the desperation of Ross to leave for another PL club.

And before you quote Coutinho, his potential move to Barcelona (as would be the dream move for any player at the top of his game) is worlds away from a move to another club, any club, to escape from week to week hoof ball.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

We are in a relegation battle, you play fa r results and to a style the manager dictates.

Hardly flowing football from Klopp, two set plays. Winner was a lump it to the big lad.

No points for sam to collect so no need to push for more games when we are not safe

Didn’t manage to get CL, you are very fortunate.

Have struggled with PL games this year, last season got 11 games this season only 8. The new threshold of 13 games hasn’t helped either.

Whether I am there or watching on TV or via a stream I’ll keep on supporting, although I recognise sometimes I only comment when we’re doing badly, something I plan on changing in 2018. It’s a 220 mile round trip too for us, so last night was past midnight before getting home.
Still worth it though.

So if Liverpool did Everton a favour by ensuring they will play fewer games, why was Allardyce bitter about the penalty?

Everton rubbing off on him already it seems

Jlou, I don’t remember saying any of this. Unless you are making a lazy generalisation?

Coutinho - people defending Firmino already, or going out to say Holgates push is worse, or making up their own conclusions before any enquiry. See how greatteams, welsh Xavi or even surprisingly mamba have reacted for the proper way.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
So far, there’s more out there suggesting that Firmino hasn’t said anything racist. If he has, then he should have the book thrown at him. But he doesn’t seem that sort of a player, he’s a ‘happy’ player as opposed to aggressive. My money’s on it being a ‘misunderstanding’, where Holgate has assumed what Firmino has said.

You’re just labling everyone the same as with the Suarez incident, making unintelligent comparisons. You’re no better than what you’re accusing Liverpool fans of, and it’s got feck all to do with Spurs

We shall see what happens. I did say 'if found guilty' but maybe people can't read... But your team does have history of less desirables. Suarez, recently Flanagan the wife beater and now potentially a racist in your ranks. Classy.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
OP is correct. THere's never any smoke without fire, just like when Suarez was found guilty of the same crime, or when Smackho was found guilty of taking drugs.

As the OP said, the FA should throw the book at him

Term clueless as usual, what a surprise.

I, for one, would be surprised if Firmino said anything & believe it could be a misunderstanding as well as Firmino isn't "that type of player" to use a cliche. Yet I have no clue, as do none of us which is why I am not criticising Holgate or Firmino.

In this very thread the following comments have been said:

"And, I don’t care what anyone says, calling someone names isn’t worse than physical assault, which could have ended in very serious injury. "

"One can only hope hes apologised to Firmino after the game asked what fihlo de putaaa or w.e means shook hands and moved on. What Holgate did was disgusting and it doesnt happen in the game often thankfully but hes a young lad and thankfully noone was hurt. No idea how he wasn't even booked and how we didnt even get a free kick out of it officiating in this country."

"Holgate has deleted his Twitter account as well.

"I may report to the police about Holgate being racist."

When Suarez-Evra gate happened. Suarez was blindly defended/Evra's credibility was attacked before any evidence had even been discovered. That is the comparison, not hard to understand.

The circumstances are different and you know it. Firmino is no Suarez, he’s not put a foot wrong since he’s been at the club and has no history anywhere else. So I’m giving him the benefit of the doubt, innocent til proven guilty. Whether you like it or not, at this stage there is more to suggest Firmino didn’t say anything racist, so I can’t see why you have a problem with anyone defending him.

Stop being so precious. It’s no different to stick that any player gets when they’ve been a prat during a game. And it really was a pretty outrageous and petulant action.

Actually forgot about that. He rightly got severely criticised by everyone for that, but it’s not on the pitch, so not really relevant to this.
