Not sure I am going to be much help here as I downloaded it last night so not had a chance to have a go yet. However, I do know that the battle royale mode is the free mode but you can buy the full game which has other modes. This may include a mode where you can learn how to play. My lad plays it on Xbox so I asked him the same questions you did. He said you just jump straight in. He plays with three of his mates so they team up. I think you can join clans. I will get a chance to play tonight so will see how I go. I'm on PlayStation so won't be able to play online with the lad. Every man for himself for me!!!!
Maybe I'll just have to play more games and try and figure it out as I go along then if that's how everyone else managed
Fackin annoying though as if you get panned off straight away that's it, back to the lobby and on the bus again
I can see me spending a lot of time on the bus
Yeah I might as well buy an annual bus pass.
a few tips for guys that are not quite up to speed yet.
Get used to dying its gonna happen !!
If new do not just jump off the bus quickly stay on a bit so to make sure that you are not in a complete swarm of guys fighting over a few weapons. If you see other players all looking to land in the same area as you then pick a house on the outskirts and raid that. ( it end to land on the roof smash thro the roof in the attic and raid the house. usually you will then have a couple of weapons and some wood from the roof.
Building is just a practice. Practice building a straight wall in front of you quickly, sometimes 4/5 of them layered. As this is a good way of protecting yourself when under fire in a fight you aint gonna win. Then practice building stairs as these allow you on top of buildings and into atttics of buildings (after you smash the ceiling) as chests are often in attics. (make sure you are listening out for chests).
Use your surroundings the best you can, hills are often the best cover to use...ie if their is a hill on your left hug it as you know that you cant get shot from that direction.
Try aiming to land in the same town a few times to get familiar with the layout of that area and then move onto the next as these can give you small advantages.
In terms of guns ideally you only really need a shotgun and an assault rifle. One for close range and one for longer ranges.
And a final wee piece of advice.... slow your game down !! big time. Assume there is a player in EVERY house, in EVERY bush and round every corner.
Make sure you are using that 3rd person camera to its fullest. Tilt the camera to look round corners, stairs, doorways before actually stepping out. When on roofs use it to peer over the ridge of the roof etc..
ps you start every game the same way and characters are randomly selected unless you unlock a special one
and finally practice going for those headshots, they are the difference in losing a 50/50 battle.
Spend a few days purely going for every target as a headshot. Before long you will naturally aiming there every time and it makes a huge difference.

Am i the only one who thinks this game looks terrible?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It is what it is, a cell shaded game which in turn means that you get very good smooth frame rates and when you have up to a hundred players in the one server/map then that is crucial.
Its a light hearted spin on PUBG and the graphic design reflects that

the proper question you should be asking yourself is it how it plays?
Should always be the first question, the first question should never be what does it look like IMO.
Gameplay over aesthetics for me every single time.
The gameplay was really good in my 4 games to be fair, 100 players and played as smooth as it would offline. Doesn't bother me the style of graphics used, it seems a well made game. Just frustrating because I'm shiyte still.
Good pointers there Del, cheers
My kid has bought the full version and from what I have seen there is no real training area.
The save the world mode that you get when you pay for it is more of a you (And any of your friends that also have it) vs a horde of zombies with soime exploration and base building elements.
When it comes to the PvP Battle Royale (The free side of it) I think it is more of a game of learn as you play (There are also a few Youtube videos that can help).
I will agree with what has been said above, play the game cautiously and learning to throw up a wall or two during a firefight can be a lifesaver.
Thank you for the input guys. I feel better prepared for my first attempt later today

my first game on it I came in 3rd !! that was in a squads game where I was the last person left in my squad !
Not bad, as I said I've come 7th but that was largely down to luck. Then once around 20th, 30th and 60th
Surprising how fast the first 30+ people die, there was only about 65 left by the time I landed in my last game.
yeah most die in the first 2 mins, hence why there is no point bailing out the bus straight away. To be fair I normally finish in the top 25 every game. Dont get me wrong I too also die after 1 min !!
My best game came from getting a bush from the chest, with a sniper rifle. I honestly killed about 15 people in a game. Was a 50 v 50 and I killed a guy and waited for his buddy to revive him, then killed his mate to went to revive him all the time in a mobile bush. I honestly downed about 8/9 people doing this. I saved it on the PS4 after it cos I also got the winning kill for my team. Everything just panned out perfectly it was epic.
Mobile Bushes are the best !!
This is by far my favourite and most played game
i can only really agree with Delboy as his tactics seem spot on
never go for densely populated areas
search everywhere, some houses have underground hidden basements so break the floor
learn to build--- as you get closer to the finish line a good fort beats everything you can throw at it
also suqadding up is a good way to learn and not just go single player. Squads make it easier with voice chat and you can work together
the only downside with squads is that all other players are working in squads so if you see one enemy you need to look around them as there is probably 3 other players close by covering them
get a shotgun and keep it handy when looking round houses as its deadly close range.
collect bandages---some people see these as taking up a weapon spot but they come in very handy if you get shot and can find somewhere to hide
feel free any of you to add me if you want to squad up

How did it go?
In short, not well. Only had chance for a couple of games. Stayed on the bus as advised and landed in the middle of nowhere on my first go. Armed with only a pickaxe I made my way to the first tower. Halfway up the stairs I came across another player so attacked him. Got a couple of hits in with the axe before he shot me in the face. Second attempt I landed on a building where I found various guns and bricks. Feeling confident I made my way down a hill to a bridge. Had a good look around before heading over. Got shot in the back.....
Better luck next time Sloppy
Sounds liike you were pretty unlucky in the two games you played. Coming up against someone who is armed when you have an axe will always end up with you dying and Im always wary of snipers.
