Very comprehensive reporting - excellent and many thanks. The sound commentary did not seem to quite convey the quality and relative dominance of the 2nd half performance.

Thanks, Hound. I have not been on the VSC for a long time - at the time they were attacking players that I thought were not that bad. However, that was then when I only saw highlights. You may have noticed I'm more "vocal" now that I can watch most of the League One games live (frustrating that I cannot see Cup games). I feel luckier than you all, that I can "go" to away games much cheaper than you can. OK, it is not the same as being there, but I thank iFollow for allowing me to be so much closer to my passion for life.

PS: I spent three years at Southampton University 1963-66, and so I'm a little worried about my minor passion whom I watched at "The Dell".

The highlights exhibit defensive weakness in both sides – surprising in Shrewsbury’s case. Defenders get in each other’s way with goalkeepers unable to reach the ball.

This is often a feature of the goals we concede with too many defenders going for the same ball and interestingly DF said he was worried about the number of goals we ship at set pieces and that he would have to do something about it. We’ll, that’s perhaps what he should be looking at. There is no useful strength in numbers when they bump into over each other and lack mutual understanding.

One thing never in question under DFs reign is the commitment of the players.

Well done to the cautious optimists, Yorkshire Lad and Azza, who foresaw the draw, but did not envisage us scoring as many as 2 away to such high-flyers.

Of course the opposition dispute the legality of the equalising goal. The manager has "seen no evidence that it crossed the line" which is not surprising since his ground-level view would be obscured by players and there was no camera with the assistant ref''s view from the side from which the position of the ball in relation to the line would be definitively visible. One of their players cites pushing on the keeper and therefore a foul which the manager did not see, nor was it apparent from the highlights view, but which would have been visible from the viewpoint of the assistant if it had happened. So which one are they going for? Perhaps it was off-side? Obviously it could never have been an legitimate goal caused by a mistake by the goalkeeper.
