My full (not very well written) review was:

All a bit silly, and personally I found it dragged on without much in terms of variety, subtlety or mystery.
Really lovely to look at though; I think it might have taken some inspiration from West Side Story.
Also, I think this was hugely influential, and could perhaps be seen as the start of the superhero movies genre (albeit I personally find that a regretful direction for cinema to have taken).
Very difficult one to rate, but I'll say 8.5.

It also had a bit of a sergio leone feel about it, but less of the sort of 'standy-offy tension building waiting for the fight', and more of just almost non stop fighting (with swords instead of guns). and a lot prettier to look at than a spaghetti western.

Pointlessly long, but really good looking film and an epic like no other at the time.

Children of Men's wrecked for me by Pam Ferris. About the worst acting performance I've ever seen.
