Imaginary 5/10 typical derivative horror even the zone at the end looked cliched.

Juror #2

Clint Eastwood directs.

Decent premise and tense thriller at times. Makes you think how the fck is this going to end which is always good....

Except in this case it then proceeded to be let down by the ending. Disappointed. Still worth a watch though 7.5/10

Interesting. I don't know that one. Trailer looks like it might be pretty decent.

Innocence is definitely worth a watch.
Only 90 minutes or so. I found it very funny.
Actually though I forgot The Runner. Not sure which of those two I prefer.

I started watching The Salesman on Amazon but got distracted so switched it off and need to go back to it. That looks good too.

Will look at both of those you mention.

although it comes with an asterix as there are 2 gratuitously extremely racist comments for no reason other than to say something offensively racist.
so some people might DQ the film on that basis. Otherwise it is one of the great masterpieces.

monica vitti and her friend go for a drink in another girl's apartment and she is obsessed with kenya which she apprently visits regularly. she dresses up in what would now probably be called blackface to do a dance, but it's a kenyan traditional outfit, and it looks like her skin has been darkened with makeup. tbh I don't mind that bit personally and I'm sure it was completely fine back then.
But the same character in the same scene then says that the africans are.....if you really want to know, she says the africans are monkeys. She then says something about some of them do one year of education and suddenly they are leaders. Then in the next scene the monkey comment is repeated as a joke.
It's just wtf????
The rest of the film is stunning, and quite brilliant.
I might be wrong but to me it was Antonioni saying if you want my brilliant film, then you have to listen to my abhorrent opinions too. Another good one of his is called Blow Up, but it's blighted by appalling sexism, such as the main character, who is a photographer, meeting a woman and telling her she's very good at standing, and not many girls can stand like her, and then says let's see how you sit, and tells her to sit on the sofa so he can see what her poise is like. Just fackin cringe. Other than that he makes beautiful films.

I think it's great for seeing what the swinging 60s were like in London! No other film like it for that.
I also think it is (unsurprisingly for Antonioni) beautiful to look at. So many gorgeous shots.
The story also grew on me the 2nd and 3rd time I watched it, and apart from the very ending being rubbish, I found it really engaging. The guy being such a **** with women was still a bit of a put off though.
But generally I do like the film.
It's not as good as L'eclisse which is one of the greatest ever movies imo, but it's likely been buried (understandably) for reasons mentioned.

i'd not read the reviews of l'eclisse.
