First one was offside tbf, Lovren wouldn’t have touched the ball had he not been rushed by Kane like that.
Second is this ridiculous hopeful aerial shot in which a lot of assumptions have to be made in terms of the line drawn and when the ball was headed. Beyond desperate.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
This second paragraph is exactly what I have been saying. No way can you say it was offside and I honestly don't think VAR would change that decision. Inconclusive picture atla poor angle. TOOR of course thinks it's offside.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Of course VAR would change it as from the still of when the ball was played you can see Lamela is offside, as per the photo.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Going round in circles aren't we. Let's just say you think it's offside and I think it's inconclusive based on any pictures in seen so far.

The photo isn’t inconclusive it’s a terrible angle, from miles away in which you have no clue at what stage the ball left Llorentes head
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I found one for you where it shows Llorente heading the ball.

I said at what stage, based on the angle the ball could be a foot in the air off his head already then
"You don't get it, the Fa's own rules state that if the ball deflects off a player into the path of an offside player then it's offside. It's different if the player plays the ball to the opposition. Regardless of that, Kane then dives for a penalty and the keeper saves it.

This is as ignorant and incorrect a comment as I have seen on this game today- and poorly written too, showing the writer's idiocy.

Yes, considering that the linesman celebrated giving the second penalty to Spurs, VAR needs to be introduced to prevent corruption and cheating.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
have a video of that?

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Oh, please
To answer the OP yes, VAR is needed, Spurs’ first penalty was a dive IMO and at the time should have let them, unfairly, back into the game.
These Mousers are so desperate, clinging onto anything to try and justify being dominated at home and very lucky to pick up a point.

disagree totally part of the excitement of the game is that mistakes are made I personally dont want it sanitised
VAR won't definitely prove a foul is or isn't a foul though. There is no technology being used to decide the outcome of an incident. All it is, is another man looking at various replays of the incident. So the debate will rumble on.
Stuff like diving will always be subjective. Did Lamela go into VVD or did VVD catch him? How can that ever be clarified?

I could accept your opinion on a comment being poorly written if you didn't fire in incorrect uses of the hyphen in your own.
It will help in offsides, handball and other misconduct type incidents though.

It will give better angles and slowly motion views. I'm more interested in the Lamela offside however as that is clear cut.
By the way, does anyone know why the referee after the game on Sky said the first Harry Kane pen was definitely a pen? I didn't see any contact between the goalie and Kane but happy to be proved wrong?

Yeah but not enough to impact his run. There was no disadvantage until he threw himself to the ground.
