Wenger bends over and asks how deep or he would have sent him to Dortmund.

posted on 13/2/18

....yeah, that definitely wasn't a option.

Are you saying that anyone below the age of "ancient", was allowed to have whatever they wanted, when they wanted it?

Explains a lot. Tsk, bloody kids today.

Kids were more disciplined in the ancient times m8.

Your logic stinks
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Maybe. But how do you explain this? last 26 points from the last 26 away games? And that include games vs bottom of the leagues teams. This is basically relelgation form.
Is it the players or the managers?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I agree that isnt good enough to make a CL place through the PL games.

If you saw some away games you come to the conclusion that we lost a few points due to refs. decision as well. Not saying that even with this points it is good enough.

Absolutely incredible! Time for Laca to get some nice game time to build his confidence up and he had to have surgery on his knee which nobody even knew was injured. Mega! I think he got scared and hit it with a hammer so he doesn't have to score goals.

How is 6 weeks not a major injury? He can miss something like 8 games in that time including a cup final, league match vs city and 4 Europa league fixtures (if we get past Ostersunds)
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We have now exactly the szenario I wrote about in January. I wouldnt have sold Giroud just for that Laca injury that now has happened. That could be costly for Arsenal to have sold OG.

I know, we had to settle with a mag found in the woods shared out amongst all of us. There's only so often you can unfold and fold a couple of pages before they wear out completely.

We couldn't have kept hold of OG, it's not like Champ Man where you can just stockpile players.
Once we got Auba, OG was knocked further down the pecking order, he's been good to and for us, why should we stop him moving on, he needs games. Hindsight is a wonderful thing.

Should have "parked" Auba in Dortmund instead.

And that would have meant no Aubameyang. Now think abt it. How much would Aubameyang cost in the summer when Real Madrid, PSG and very likely Liverpool et al would have also come in for him.

Dortmund wanted him gone. There was no choice of buying him now and 'parking' him.

These clubs werent interested in Auba in the last summer and it isnt likely that they would this summer.

If you are being honest our PL hope of top 4 ended long ago. So would have done without Auba yes but priority is EL to get a CL place.

Erm.....we nearly refuse to buy him for that amount of money. Dortmund wasnt in the pole position here.

We definitely did the right thing by getting Auba in, and if that meant Giroud had to go to make it happen then so be it. Have to think long term rather than worry about a 6 week period.
Wenger chose to keep Welbeck and sell Walcott and Giroud, meaning he has faith in him. We have little choice but to support Welbeck in the 4 games he could have to play in the Europa in the next month.

Hope Welbeck stays fit.

Exactly, we were in pole position in January and had to act.
A lot can change between now and the summer.
Liverpools priority was VvD - but in the summer they may decide to go for a striker.
Conte seemed fixated in a big man, but he may be gone in the summer and the new man may want a striker like Auba.
Real will rebuild, maybe with a new manager, and again Auba may become a man they would have wanted.
