Gianni Infantino says: "As of today, Video Assistant Refereeing is part of football."
Infantino: "We came to the conclusion that VAR was good for football, was good for refereeing. It brings more fairness."

The ensuing carnage will be fun
FAW chief executive Jonathan Ford hails a "very historical meeting".
FA CEO Martin Glenn adds: "We all agreed there's still work to do."
IFA CEO Patrick Nelson says: "Of the 132 Annual General Meetings, this would no doubt be in the top 10 or so."
The FA are all on board with it, can see it coming into place after next season. Finally the likes of Dean, Atkinson and Anthony Taylor and the other useless refs won't be able to show themselves up again.
Ashame it wasn’t at the 86 World Cup.

Hate it personally... Its been awful so far
Nothing should be in the laws of the game that can't be enforced at every level... And this can't
I'm yet to be convinced by it. Decisions seem to take too long. Having said that, we might get used to it taking the amount of time it does.
The main issues with VAR so far have been the awful refs who don't understand the rules and can't make simple decisions even after 2 minutes of replays.

other countries are coping fine with it, and that's because they eventually got used to it. Just like we will in England.
Any time taken by VAR needs to be added on at the end of each half, that's the stupidest thing that's happened so far

Maybe as the officials get used to it the amount of time to make decisions will naturally reduce.
and like I said, we need a proper training programme in place to get the officials used to it and stop wasting time in coming to a decision. That's what the other countries have done.

It's still a pain in the @ss in MLS. Still takes minutes to make decisions
I can see the arguments for it, and I can see why it's been resisted for so long. I think next season is too soon for use in the PL, because, as Arab says, the training for referees needs to be comprehensive.
And there goes any controversy that made football great. What next , 11 robots instead of humans?
Infantino puts his faith in Pierluigi Collina to make sure referees are ready: "He's a workaholic; he's a working maniac."
who better to train the officials than one of the greatest refs seen in the game? Another good decision from Gianni.
If after 30 seconds it's not an obvious error then the ref's decision should stand IMO.
If the technology doesn't allow you to make a decision in this timeframe then we need better tech before we can use it.
For factual decisions (offside, part of the field incident happened etc) then I'd leave that to the VAR but for the ones where interpretation is involved I'd rather the ref have access to an instant replay so as to maintain consistency during any one game at least in how it's reffed. Can't have VAR saying red when the ref all through the game has been erring on the side of yellows.
Football is always evolving. In the past some of the things introduced in the game which were opposed by some include a referee, linesmen, penalties, crossbar and nets, yellow and red cards, substitutions, injury time, goal line technology etc. VAR is just the latest change to be opposed. In a few years time it will be part and parcel of the game at the top level.
IFAB technical director David Elleray confirms competition organisers will be allowed to show VAR incidents on a the big screen (as they are in the trials if they choose to do so). But he rules out a pick-and-mix approach to incidents covered under VAR. It's all or nothing.
