It’s all relative to the clubs involved, Fulham buying Marlet for over 10 million was a huge flop for them, both performance wise and financially.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
But £10m is nowhere near £89m.

posted on 27/3/18

It was to Fulham at the time.

posted on 27/3/18

In fact, it was significantly more.

No it was £10m. The question was who is the most expensive flop. If you consider Pogba a flop, knowing he is the most expensive, then he is the most expensive flop.

...............

This is why Melton used the word 'relative'.

He wasn't talking about his aunts and uncles.

Hence why I qualified it with it’s all relative. Marlet cost Fulham the same as 33% of their revenue that season. Relative to the club involved, that’s the most expensive flop I can think of.

You don’t know how expensive a flop Pogba is unless he is sold.

Yes but that was nothing to do with the question. It asked in black and white, who is the most expensive flop.

He apparently doesn't fit the criteria as he hasn't been sold yet. Bravo apparently doesn't fit that criteria however.

Basically you can only vote for who the OP wants you to.

Look up the definition of expensive.

It strictly refers to paid out, the expensiveness of the original buy cannot change regardless of how much they are sold for.

Because he hasn’t even been here one year

Worst signing of the year maybe he’d make that list but cut him some slack

why you ranting on about VVD then

Tieing yourself in knots.

Who’s “ranting” about VVD?

I didn’t being him into the picture but once someone else did I used him as an example of not living up to his price tag. Which is currently what you and the other scousers seem to think justifies “flop”

If he leaves earlier than planned then yes, it revises the situation.

But he signed a contract and at present there's little reason to believe he'll be sold in the next 18 months.

That's why.

posted on 27/3/18

In TOOR's world, a player can be a flop after 6 months, then a success after 12 months, then a flop again after 2 years.

Flip flop flip flop.

Nonsense.

Nope, in my world a player is either a flop or he isn't. Pogba is a flop, that could change. He's the most expensive PL flop.
