They’re a pair of jobbies arguing about which one is the stinkiest.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Don't forget to use a stool for the best jobbies ever.
Anyway, I have just renewed for next season for me and my two lads, cost just under a thousand. I wonder what the chances are of me getting it refunded when we are promoted?
Haven't renewed yet. Still contemplating whether I want to travel more or move to a warmer country or stay in England, shiver and be disappointed every new year.
I'd have thought that last night would have gone a long way towards answering your quandry ?
Maybe you'll have made a final decision by this time on Monday
Hughesy with another assist for Watford. Wish we had a player like that.
He wanted to leave though Spart
True and I can't blame him. We didn't try to replace him though but have relied on Huddlestone's long passes all season to get the ball to the front men. This worked for a while but now teams are set up to try and stifle this route.
Hughes only wanted to leave because he knew GR wouldn't pick him. Letting Will go is one of Rowett's biggest mistakes along with getting rid of Russell, Bryson and Martin. Not to mention the ludicrous signings of Lawrence and the utterly useless Jerome, who is apparently on more than £40K per week. And of course not playing Palmer and dropping Wisdom and picking Thorne instead of Ledley and have I mentioned playing the deadleg Jerome instead of Nugent.
I hope next match, if he's still manager, he picks a team something like this: Carson; Wisdom, Pearce, Davies, Olsson; Ledley, Hanson; Palmer, Vydra, Yman; Nugent.
I think we and the players and GR need to focus on Monday before passing judgment.
I think last night was an anomaly maybe the cancelled game against Cardiff actually worked against us. We're not in good nick though and the pressure's on.
We have been fooled by runs the last several seasons. Runs are essential to promotion, but there is also the timing of the runs and the grit needed in between them, Cardiff sped out of the blocks, fell back and then kept up with the leading pack at a distance before it would seem making a dash for the finish line. They might stumble or time it to perfection.
We seem to go on our flat out run, October to December, when others are maybe consolidating a bit. The fans get giddy and entitled and then when we run out of steam they turn mardy and moody and Mel acts.
I feel like we've made a dash for it, got pulled back but we're still in the mix, last night we maybe got our heels clipped but rather than cursing the players for falling I think we need to give em the chance to get back on their feet again.
I'm not sure playoffs were guaranteed at the beginning of the season, GR I think post Bristol City did wonders to make an overpaid bunch of ill thought out transfer signings into a tight counter attacking unit.
I think the problem came when Ledley got injured, maybe it's cos Thorne is a different player or maybe it was tactical but we switched from being reactive to trying to be proactive. Maybe it was cos when we hit 2nd teams dropped back against us and gave us the ball more and we went back to type - casual knocking it about until we give the ball away in dangerous positions or maybe you do need to go after games more to win titles. Either way the result has been a team that's trying to ayf counter attack and ayf play possession football and completely do neither.
The January transfer market does need questions asked about it, if Vydra gets injured Palmer is an inspired purchase but I do feel from what I've seen it's Vydra or Palmer chose one, JR going and not being replaced and Jerome I'm not as angry about as I do think he has a role to play and had Nugent not seen an alarming dip in performance levels I think he'd be a handy sub to bring on, or 70 minuter to soften defence's up.
Sunderland wouldn't have pressed us like that if the Huddz had been playing as he would have dissected their 5 man press and we'd have probably had a hatful or pushed them back so we can tika taka it in the 1st and 2nd third of the pitch before losing it.
We don't have the players to play a dynamic game, we have a formula and I think we'll have to stick with it, go back to basics and win ugly. Sacrifice possession for one or two decent chances instead of 10 or 15 half chances.
GR is a thinking man, I think he will reflect on this season, he's still learning and will make mistakes, it's how we react to the mistakes, if I see a defensive unit and a tight game I'd stick. If there's signs the players don't want to play for him then Mel has some deeper questions to ask about the whole culture of the club.
If he does go 4-3-3 vs 4-2-3-1 will be an interesting conundrum for the next in line, Vidals I think raises an interesting point re. Vydra I lean towards the same conclusion.
Also, aren't BJ, Blackman, Butters off the books at the end of this season. Whether it's Rowett or the next poor sod we might see a bit more from the academy next year.
Personally, I still think we can turn this round and still think we can get promoted.
Good to have football back though again.
Oh sorry n one other thing I don't think we should be too quick to dismiss GT and Fozzy (don't shoot me Baz).
They both came back from very serious injuries this season the same with Hughes last year, trying to step up my own fitness levels after 18 months of sat on my @rse, the tank is empty, I think if they have a rest period and a decent pre season we might see a bit more from both of them next season ....and me
I never thought that Forsyth was that good before his injury. He could never play the weighted pass down the line like Baird does. Mostly his passes went out of play or to the opposition.
Have raided the piggy bank - boxing for me!
On flames Wellies, as the kids say.
Cheers Vidals
