WoM, I fear you may be right. My "Peeder" prediction of 5th is certainly looking very optimistic.

My Peeder prediction is the only comfort I can take.

But my expectation was a fairly steady season, gradually moving from lower mid-table to upper mid-table.

After the rocky start the zoom up to second ignited hope and expectation. Now finishing 10th is a disappointment.

It's the hope that get me every time.

Me too Igor. Still in shock is an understatement. I can not believe we folded at Burton. I think this season has gone. My one little ray of hope is that Rowett gives Luke Thomas his full debut this Saturday. If the so called senior places cant hack Burton away then turn to a freshness. Use the force Luke. Obe one Backo is with you.

Outside the Play Offs please!!!!!!

If only the last day of the season was on the Friday rather than the Sunday. That would be the right day for Thomas’s full debut.

May the fourth be with you Luke.

If it's any consolation Huddersfield had an awful run in including losing at home to Burton and then scraped through the play offs not winning any games but still were promoted. What is more they look like surviving so all is not lost.

On reflection, I'm glad we've dropped out of the play offs now rather than after the last game! At least the agony is over for this season.

It's been coming for weeks ... we've been dull to watch all season and grinding out results only works when you don't give away stupid goals.

As the season's gone on, we've got worse at both ends.

Unless GR decides to go gung ho and all out attack, we won't finish above 7th.

10th is quite possible

Come, come, Peeder.! No rudeness intended. We are NOT out yet. there is still a chance.

I started a thread in January similar to this and predicted outside the play offs, I didn't expect outside the top 10

Doesn't look good for this season or next currently so I'd like to see Mick McCarthy in ASAP. did a brilliant job flirting with play offs and avoiding any relegation fights with a below average squad and no money to spend

Is there?

We have just given Jamie Hanson a new 2 year deal so I'd suggest we are planning for another season in the Championship!

Got to believe we can still do it.
Last Saturday has gone!
Win our next 2 home games and then see if Boro and Millwall can both get 3 points when the play each other,
1 for all and all for 1 in Saturday!
Lost a few battles but the war isn’t lost!

It’s going to take a hell of a turn around Griff. The problem is we don’t believe. If it was the 606 faithful lining up against Boro I’d give us a chance but it isn’t it’s our uninspiring bottlers who have to do it.
It’s still in our hands but I have yet to see this team show any fight when it really matters.
I really hope Rowett can reach into himself and find the words to motivate them.
We’ll see on Saturday.

Tell that to the team.

If it was the 606 faithful we would have no chance. We delight in failure. One win changes everything and puts us back in pole position to qualify for the play-offs which would still rank as an achievement of sorts and something to build on. If West Brom can beat Man U, the team that beat the champions, and Burton can beat us then we can certainly beat Middlesbrough. Players and fans need to give their all and then we can dissect it when the season has ended.

I’d love the chance to give a pre match talk to them on Saturday. Trouble is they’d come out shaking

If we’d beaten Sunderland and then lost to Preston we would be 1 place further down the league.
