Derby fans haven't got the bottle to back the team. They become more vocal in bad times. Some would even prefer to see Derby lose and be proved right than Derby win. That's the truth.
Backo, you speak the truth there. There are people on this site who only surface when things are not going well, jubilant, saying how they always predicted it and how we should have listened to them. They never say what we actually should have done had we listened to them though. They seem to hate optimism and deride those who just want to support their team. I honestly have no idea what it is that they get out of being a football fan.
Vidal ... the art of man is, as the famous Rams fan Rudyard Kipling wrote, to treat winning and losing just the same.
Personally, I hate losing. If im losing I try harder. If my team is losing I'll sing louder. On here I may be saying we're doomed but in my heart I would never give up until the final whistle has gone.
But boy, supporting this lot does drag you down at times 😂😂😂
Vidal...since Wembley we have a new fan thing. We all of a sudden packed the South West Upper. Don't remember seeing it packed leading up to McClaren replacing Clough. The moaning Derby fans are new ones. They have no idea how to take defeat. They are only there because thought after Wembley we would walk the league. I'm angry with the team after Saturday but I will be right behind em Saturday...no matter who plays. Fake fans...pfft.
Kipling should have stuck to making French effing Fancies, Peeder. What a pile of crap. Football is the glory game so we have to revel in victory and savour the brief moment. In defeat we need defiance. If we need a poet’s advice I would go for Dylan Thomas, not go gentle into that dark night but rage, rage against the dying of the light. Then try and feed in Vydra for the winner.
It does Griff. Beating Boro is all that matters now. Its all or nothing Saturday. If fans cant put Derby County first come 3pm then they shouldn't even be there.
Beat Boro and Cardiff and then someone needs to explain how Boro and Millwall can both get 3 points when they play each other
I think it involves a cunning plan Griff.
We have got 6 points in our last 5 games, not great, but Boro have only got 7, Preston 6, Sheff United and Brizzle only 4. I doubt their fans have given up. Only Millwall are in any decent form of those teams chasing for fifth or sixth and they have a very tough finish. One win out of the next three games and in all probability a final day win would see us in the top six.
Reasons to be cheerful:
1. We beat Boro away
2. We beat Villa at home
3. We were robbed to only get a nil-nil at Cardiff.
Wine is a wonderful thing.
And plenty of our fans like a good wine.
Repeat the results from those games and we will be there

...or are we talking about something different?
With my luck, I'd pull the lead singer

Haven't beaten a side home and away this season I think I'm right in saying. Can't see that stat changing.
Be surprised if we get another point this season and Rowett will be gone either at the end of the season or 8 games into next.
Still, at least we should all be excited that Jamie Hanson has 'penned a new deal.'

Fairly sure that was also the case last season?

Last season we beat Wolves, Birmingham and QPR home and away
This season we have done the double over Preston and Bolton. Uninspiring
Unless something can be rescued by a miracle of recovery - it will have been a thoroughly uninspiring season.
I wonder what Mel will make of things? But I hope he doesn't do anything until we are sure. As I said elsewhere - if we can beat Cardiff at Derby we are back in the play-offs where anything can happen.
Do people think that the fans of Middlesbrough, Preston, Sheffield United and Bristol City will have given up on play-offs? If not, why not?
"Last season we beat Wolves, Birmingham and QPR home and away

Maybe. Perceptions are interesting. Another way to look at it might be that the only team to have done the double over Derby this season has been Wolves. Middlesbrough have been beaten home and away by 3 teams. No other team this season will do the double over us and we have 3 more opportunities for doubles, if such a thing is important. I don't know why this is being seen as a barometer of achievement or inspiration.
Why seize upon the stats that are uninspiring rather than the ones that are more hopeful? The recent form of the teams jostling with us for the play-offs is, apart from Millwall, no better than ours. I don't say that we WILL win our remaining games and fly into the play-offs but many stranger things have happened than Derby beating Middlesbrough in a home fixture. Villa may well be out of the picture for top two by the time we play them and have their foot off the gas, and Barnsley's fate may also be sealed by the last day of the season. I think if we beat Boro we will be in the play-offs and poor though some of the recent performances have been we surely would like to finish as high as we can.
Or do we not all feel that way? Do some of us not actually want us to get into the play-offs because they feel it would paper over some cracks? Serious question.
Many wanted us to go up automatically.
Surely we needed to beat the bottom 3(Sunderland,Burton and barnsley) home and away?
Not happened in the past 2 seasons now.
