Mir is a funny one Wolfie I wouldn't be surprised to see him go on loan next season.

Looks like there can't be any overseas signings until June 8th.

But why wasn't Mir played, or at least on the bench? He was a somewhat panic January window buy and was given a chance when he first came in. I really don't see him featuring in the Premier League, if he couldn't start in the Championship. He could at least have been on the bench when we had promotion secured.

He wasn't a panic buy in any way shape or form, i have truly no idea why you could even come to that conclusion?!?

He got into our squad when he arrived because we had no bleedin' strikers as back up and we were always targeting another striker and he was never going to be the intended answer last season.

He will go on loan this coming season as he has never really played many games at any sort of level we would want, he was a young player highly regarded that became available so we took him as we had the jump on other sides through whatever goes on behind the scenes, the end.

Cinci, many on here were screaming out for new strikers during last summer. We got Bonatini and had Enobakhare as back up. I was probably the only one who stated that provided our other main signings got on the score sheet, we'd be ok. Bonatini did well to begin with, but his goals dried up around November time and as it happened, other signings were getting the goals and we were top of the league. When the January window was open, we got Mir on the 3rd for 1m or so. He's played 29 minutes of league football in the Championship and didn't even feature when promotion was secured. He'll be 21 next month and you're saying he'll go out on loan. To where, I ask?

Most players that we get "for the future" are 17 or so, like the young Danish goalkeeper we got, not nearly 21.
So are you really suggesting that we snapped him up, in order that no-one else did. Sorry, I'm not buying that theory.

If we're going to progress and hopefully play in Europe, we're going to have to do it without 1m players, who if you're right, will be plying their trade in a lower league for next season.

There are very few players, if any, that we send out on loan, that come back and make it in the first team and it'll be even more difficult for him, being in a new country, playing and probably living away from his parent club.

Sunny so desperate to right at all costs

100% we needed another striker as well as Bona. Mir clearly has something about him, Real Madrid wanted him, I'm guessing that their scouts know a player when they see one

Was definitely a signing with an eye for the future. Quite likely elsewhere but for £1m surely profitable.

Oh one last point - we can't play in Europe with £1m signings have a look how much Leicester paid for Vardy and Mahrez. I'd say the pair were less than £2m

Not sure Hart was ever a great GK, and now he is, at best an average PL keeper and possibly not much better than Ruddy. I think we could do better.

any big signings are unlikely to be domestic - and for those, including boly and jota, cannot be finalised until june although they can be arranged and announced.
