Cinci, many on here were screaming out for new strikers during last summer. We got Bonatini and had Enobakhare as back up. I was probably the only one who stated that provided our other main signings got on the score sheet, we'd be ok. Bonatini did well to begin with, but his goals dried up around November time and as it happened, other signings were getting the goals and we were top of the league. When the January window was open, we got Mir on the 3rd for 1m or so. He's played 29 minutes of league football in the Championship and didn't even feature when promotion was secured. He'll be 21 next month and you're saying he'll go out on loan. To where, I ask?

Most players that we get "for the future" are 17 or so, like the young Danish goalkeeper we got, not nearly 21.
So are you really suggesting that we snapped him up, in order that no-one else did. Sorry, I'm not buying that theory.

If we're going to progress and hopefully play in Europe, we're going to have to do it without 1m players, who if you're right, will be plying their trade in a lower league for next season.

There are very few players, if any, that we send out on loan, that come back and make it in the first team and it'll be even more difficult for him, being in a new country, playing and probably living away from his parent club.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

He will be loaned because he has next to zero experience at the second tier or above as he came from the Spanish third tier which in itself tells you quite clearly that he was a speculative purchase with an eye on the future more than an immediate fix.

I don't understand what mystery you think there is? Do you think we gave him 29 minutes and said ''feck me this lads terrible''??? He is a young player we hope to develop but the reality is he will likely not make it with us just like 95% of the young players we have at the club.

Looks like Leicester have signed Ricardo Pereira from Porto for £22m

Cinci, if he only has 95% chance of making it at our club, there's the bleeding' mystery of why we got him in the first place. If he goes on loan, surely it's best if he goes back to Spain rather than League 1. If he goes to a Championship club, then why the heck wasn't he given more game time, after we secured promotion?

The whole situation surrounding him is pretty weird and the club have said nothing about him either.

Sunshine you do get hung up on some strange things.

If he has 95% of making at this club then there is a 5% chance he will, he does have a certain pedigree which Wolves are gambling on will see a return.

If it doesn't work out move him on maybe for more than we bought him for, it's a win win.

Amiga, I'm not getting hung up about anything. All I'm trying to find out from folk on here, is why we bought him and gave him a 4 and a half year contract. For someone who allegedly has so much potential, I can't understand why he hasn't donned a Wolves shirt at any level since February. Surely the best way to find out, is to play him, even at U23 level.
We all have debates about this player or that player, but Mir seems to be off everyones radar, except mine. I'm sure we'd all like to see what potential he really has, but we're not getting even a sniff.

He is an investment, if he makes it great if he doesn't we will probably still make a profit selling him on.

Nuno will decide if he is good enough, if not out on loan and sell him on.

Not a hard equation.

posted on 19/5/18

We bought him because he is a highly regarded young player who we feel has plenty of upside so worth the investment.

I think you are reading too much into the fact he got on our bench when he arrived but the answer to that is obvious as everybody bar you knew we needed more striker depth and we had none, he was never ever in any world going to hold off Benik Afobe when he arrived given he had barely played a game at anything above the third tier.

Next season he will go on loan, probably back to Spain if he struggles to settle, of not we will hope he gets a champo gig or failing that a third tier half season loan, if that goes well perhaps a champo club for the second half of the season but I will be stunned if he features for us next season in meaningful games.

Amiga, the guy is a human being, not a piece a paper to invest. Every player wants game time and he's not had any since February. Neither of you two have explained why.

What do you need explaining sunny. He's raw and needs experience. I agree.

Can only play for 2 teams in one season (I think) so we couldn't loan him out

The guy is our player, if he proves his worth he will stay, if he doesn't he will move on for a decent fee.

Wolves saw an opportunity and took a chance, it's up to him to prove himself, I hope he comes good, but Nuno will decide that.

As it stands Wolves are not going to lose anything by taking him.
