The Box Office Report as of 27th Nov ‘22-
Black Panther now at $675 Million. Tracking nicely towards that $800 Million mark.
But obviously another success for Marvel on the cards.
Black Adam now at $378 Million, limping it’s way to $400 Million… er..yeh.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Shock horror the sequel to the MCU movie that made a billion does better than the movie about a relative unknown character made by a movie company that many fans have lost faith in up to this point lol.
I'm absolutely appalled that Stringer could even make such a comparison
Yeah that was silly string

I was very very happy with Black Adam. I don't care what people say or how much it made or didn't make. It's what I want to see in a comic book movie and I hope DC keep moving in that direction. I was thoroughly entertained and fack what anyone else says. It was like one of those animated movies they make, but only live action.
Not happy enough to take it to 800 million though
I wasn’t making a comparison just reporting the facts mam. Just stating how the spandex movies are doing.,,
Of course it doesn’t reflect what you thought of the film.
If Andor was released in the cinema, it would’ve been a box office flop according to the numbers, but the reality is, it’s up there as the best of anything Star Wars.

I enjoyed it too, it delivers exactly what it says on the tin. I haven't seen Wakanda Forever yet but from everything I've seen and heard about it I doubt I'll enjoy it as much as Black Adam and that opinion has nothing to do with which studio they were made by.
One making more than the other one at the box office doesn't make it the better movie. The MCU has obviously built up such a huge fan base from phases 1-3 and rightly so as phases 1-3 we're pure brilliance for the most part.
If Black Adam was an MCU movie then I suspect it would have made a significant amount more than it did.

Even Thor 4 made about that much and we all know that was a very bad movie. So I'd say that figure is about the bare minimum that Wakanda Forever should make seeing that it's the sequel to a billion dollar making MCU movie.

Definitely a factor. The average man on the street would have had no idea who Black Adam was prior to this movie. And that he didn't even cameo in any other movies prior to getting his solo movie was probably a mistake by WB.
The main problem these DC movies have is that general audiences don't have faith in the DC brand at the moment and you only need to look at the comments on here to see the huge levels of apathy towards these DC movies.
As David Zaslav has stated the whole thing needs to be more streamlined, having more than one Batman and Joker appearing in what are three different movie universes is a strange situation and you can't imagine MCU putting out a mess like that.
Also when a good solo Batman movie only makes 700 million at the box office (in a world where Thor 4 made 800 million) then you know there's a general audience problem with your brand.
But 700 Million is good business. But you are right, it’s been a cluster F at DC. PR disasters from behind the scene shenanigans don’t help matters.
But hopefully they are putting into place a team that will get it back on track.
Their whole problem was chasing Marvel and Copying Fieges vision. You could feel it being rushed.
Just like that, we were having Batman v Superman.
No build up to it, just throwing the kitchen sink.
That was a criminal decision.

For sure. There's forces that can impact how well a movie does that have nothing to do with the quality of the movie itself.
Based on what I have read, seen and heard, BA's box office failings are mainly due to the quality of the movie and DC's reputation. Possibly in the following proportions:
DC's current rep:30%
Quality of the movie: 50%
Other factors: 20%
