It sounded like he'd direct a DCU movie when the DCU was announced, he's a good director and would be a solid choice imo. I don't see the issue?

I’ve always kinda sympathised with them but can’t really argue with they way they were portrayed in that episode

I think it’s a good piiiiiisstake regardless of where you really stand with them, to be honest.
