Doubt they even really know themselves lol.

James Gunn writing and directing a Superman movie sounds like a disaster waiting to happen. Can't think of anyone less suited to making a sincere Superman movie At a time when Warner are under huge pressure for this movie to be successful, especially as it will set up everything that comes after it. And with many fans still angry by Henry Cavill's treatment this already has so much going against it.

I'm not quite sure how I feel about that. I think his directing style suits a certain type of hero and Superman isn't that.

This is my reservation. Love his movies but Superman doesn't seem to suit him. I wouldn't have an issue with him directing Creature Commandos for example, as that's much more his wheelhouse.

You see now… I can imagine Gunn doing a period piece Superman, paying homage to the old comic panels of the 60’s.

Interestingly, he said he was offered Superman years ago - "I initially said no because I didn’t have a way in that felt unique and fun and emotional that gave Superman the dignity he deserved."

Also says he was hesitant to direct initially.

If he's smart he'll make the archetype Superman but everything else in the movie, including the villain will play in Gunn's field

Initially yeah but it's going to spill over into live action - the same voice actors will play the characters in live action.

He must be way ahead with the script. Maybe he did pass it his ideas around and got rejected and decided fine, he’ll do it himself.
It’s brave.. cos if he screws this up.. it’s all on him.
And the pressure will be nuts.

I'm down with that lol, sounds exciting. Apart from the bit where Tom Cruise gets killed making the movie.

I'm still hoping Nic Cage finally gets his deserved crack at playing Superman.
