Sooo I read the comments twice to make sure, No one commented about the price being speculated. I am worried about football these days.
Looks so much like Pogba and Matic in style of play. Does not look fast... at all. He really does not complement Pogba tbh.

I don't think he's a box to box player really. That's my point. He's got something like 15 goals this season hasn't he? How many box to box miss score that many? Can't think of a single one. He's far more attacking that people think he is.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He isn't. it just like how they called Pogba a box-to-box too. Good times that.

Hallelujah. Somebody on my side.
I actually really like Savic as it goes but if Matic n Pogba are to stay and play then I'd stay away. If Pogba really had fallen out with Jose then Savic would be great for us.
Scored more goals than KDB this season and David Silva but apparently he's box to box now. That's not my interpretation of the role anyway.
Top player in the making though.
When I have played football manager, I often play a midfield 3 with the following roles.
1 DM set to deep lying playmaker.
1 Box to Box
1 Roaming/Advanced Playmaker/Attacker.
Perfect balance and it has won me numerous titles.

^This guy gets it.
Having seen various clips on the Ytube, yes I know, one thing is clear regarding his position and that is he plays on the left of a midfield 3.Basically the Pogdabz role.
I'd prefer a Rakitic/Modric/Thiago type player who would give us more control of the game and that would allow Pogba to roam freely.
Buying better fullbacks and a new top winger will add more goals. Imagine Lukaku but with someone who can actually cross a ball? He'd be lethal and I'm not his biggest admirer but I do get he's a goalscorer.
So he's scored 14 goals it means he's not a box to box midfielder? His best return before this season was 7. Does that mean he was a box to box midfielder then?
Has he just changed this season?

He's developed into a more attacking player. Not doubting his talent though. Just don't think him n Pogba is a match made in heaven sadly. I think someone more disciplined would be more useful. However if pogs left I'd get this guy in.
But what do I know anyway. You lot clearly know more than I do because you say so.
Rakitic/Modric/Thiago aren't going to be an awful lot of help when United don't have the ball though. They work hard and harry but work better when the whole team is set up like that. United don't operate that way. So Matic is still going be doing work by himself.
We've been linked ked with Ndombele from Lyon today too. A more orthodox CM from what I have read and seen on YouTube. Can't say I have watched much of him though as I haven't.
Total opposite player to Savic though.
Like.I said the Savic rumours came from the sun and don't seem to have much substance anyway. Already been denied by club and agent.

Rakitic and Modric work their socks off. Clearly haven't seen them play much recently. Thiago is a bit less industrious though I'll give you that but I just feel having a deeplying player who can keep the ball is badly lacking as our passing has become a joke.
Thing is though that you're the one going on like you've watched a lot of him. I'd say you've seen as much as us, very little.
We were going off what was in the article in the OP. Regardless of where it was published I would hope the author has seen more of Savic than we have.
But you were quick to jump and talk absolute speculative dung that this obviously means Pogba is on his way. And then slabber about City and there players. Doesn't work like that.
Maybe Jose sees Savic as someone who can add to United's attacking game while at the same time providing some defensive foil when needed. It's all speculation, and that's all we are doing. You have been the One to come in making the sweeping declarations.
I know they work hard, but they're not physically imposing enough to do it themselves. They need the team to be set up in a way were everyone works hard to get the ball back. United don't operate that way.
Of course box to box midfielders can score a decent amount of goals. All depends on how good their shooting is. In the OP it says that he scores a lot outside the box. Makes sense a B2B midfielder would get a lot of chances to shoot out there

Or you could be reading into something that might not be true. Both the club and agent have said there's been no contact. This came from the Sun which says it all.
I think if we do sign him for £80m then Paul Pogba is going. That's my feeling from watching him play and also how I know Jose operates.
We could very easily end up with someone.else too like.i said. He's not the only player we've been linked with. Not by far.
Nobody is claiming that the report we had agreed a fee was true. My God, Robb even said, "apparently" in his article.
You're doing a TOOR and changing what your arguing about when you realised you were talking dung. Have fun with that.
The clue is in the description of the role, ‘box to box’, meaning they are in the opponents box often so will have opportunities to score. Maybe he’s a good finisher but also has a great engine and can get stuck in defensively too meaning he can operate the b2b role and get goals.
As none of us have seen much of this guy and basing it off an article from the sun, there isn't much to argue over other than no one having an actual clue on how he plays. I have read that he initially started as a Cm but has been more of an ACM this season. But these are just things I've read I've not watched him. And YouTube scouting isn't any better.
Thomas Partey of Atletico is who I think could be somebody we look at. Robust midfielder with great engine and be dubbed the new Essien. Seems like the perfect Jose player to me.
I genuinely feel that's the type of player that will get the best out of Pogba personally.
I'm a big fan of Pogba, and I don't think we have used him as effectively as we could have since he's been here. Even so, he's inconsistent and not at the top level yet.
So to sign a load of "robust" midfielders to simply get the best out of him is, at best, risky. At worst stupid. As it is, our midfield looks flat and devoid of ideas when he has an off-day (which happens all to often even when he plays in a 3). Or when he is out injured - see our drop in performances from September to November.
So no, I think a box-to-box midfielder who carries an attacking threat is exactly what we need. And it definitely shouldn't mean the end of Pogba.
