Sounds about right really. If I was going to bet on it I'd go for the 8/13 with City.
Man City should be favourites again. Pool getting overhyped at the minute, they certainly should be on bigger odds than Man Utd. Chelsea are a bit unpredictable, but if the right manager is appointed and few quality purchases in the summer and they may actually challenge next season.
Spurs have a better squad than Arsenal atm, but will they be able to hold on to few of their star players this summer ? Toby and Rose maybe sold, who else will follow them ?
Arsenal could be a surprise package next season, with a new manager and maybe few additions, they could at least achieve top 4.
City clear favorities
United a distant second
Chelsea not far behind United
Then come Liverpool
Followed by Spurs
Arsenal
Depends if Jose goes. On paper, United have a competing squad. Not sure what Jose’s playing at with his “tactics”.
Chelsea at 10-1 ! sounds good to me .
Chelsea the only good bet out of those
City - Rightly favourites and only need fine tuning unless some one major leaves.
Liverpool - 2nd. Play good football, already identified new players but tend to flop unles Firmino and/or Salh are off the pace.
Chelsea - Dark horses. Have proved in the past they kick on immediately with a new manager.
United - Can't see it really with Mourinho in charge even if they bring in a couple more £75m+ players.
Spurs - Hit a ceiling (imo) Nice football but still missing the wow factor.
Arsenal - New manager will be chosen with a long term view rather than a quick fix. 2-3 years off being top 4 certs again.
The rest - Can't see any further than the aforementioned clubs. Leceisters' winning season coincided with a perfectly happy and balanced squad up against most of the 'top' clubs being in a state of flux.
That 'perfect storm' scenario may not happen again in a generation.
Back to back titles don’t happen very often so that makes me think 8-13 isn’t much value

Too early to make predictions. Should wait until the TW have closed.
None of them are a good bet. I'd put everyone outside City at at least 33-1
Surely Liverpool for next year.
United, Chelsea and Leceister have proved that winning the title can be the portal to the pit of misery in recent years.
Liverpool should be City's biggest threat. The CL challenge has derailed their league form, but they were the second best team post Van-Dijk. Add another defender and a keeper then it may well be their year!

Utd have fallen away because of Fergie leaving, Leicester were a midtable standard team having a miraculous season they'd never repeat, Mourinho did a Mourinho and killed all stability. Won't happen at City.

If Chelsea finish 5th then you can move them out to 20-1 as well.

They should be but far too often don’t put away the smaller teams and that’s nothing to do with the CL
Possibly a squad not big enough?
I’d love us to retain the title more than anything next season. We’ve set the bar high and with Peps intensity I think we’ve got an excellent chance of doing so.
Mourinhos pragmatic football is pretty tried and tested as an ineffective antidote to Guardiolas style of football. Liverpool should provide a stronger challenge next year, but I disagree the CL has distracted their league campaign, they’ve been pretty consistent throughout the year.
Chelsea are at a crossroads. I don’t think they’ll keep Hazard again if/ when they fail to qualify for the Champions League, and going off the forwards they were linked with in the summer - are they fading as a force? We will see, certainly weren’t linked with title quality forwards though.
Can someone help me understand the odds?
So if I put £100 on Liverpool at 5/1............
I will stand to lose £100 right?
I think the competition will come from United and Liverpool. I think both lack a rounded squad, Liverpool in particular having great attacking options, dross is midfield and, despite VVD, a defence liable to collapse. They do have a very smart manager. United on the other hand have Jose, and a history of iffy recruitment.
A lot depends on signings, and it is worth remembering that City swept the division away this year, mostly with only one or no fit forwards. Imagine what we could do with more attacking options?
I see Chelsea and Man United as the only challengers.
Spurs, Arsenal and us competing for fourth.

The CL has certainly had an effect. We haven't been consistent at all. Before we started resting players for the CL, picking up injuries in the one position in midfield, leaving us with three midfielders for the three midfield positions and playing a 19 year old right back, we were the second most in form team since the turn of the year, after City.
Watford, Burnley, Newcastle, West Brom all games with points dropped at the start of the season. Similar games have seen points dropped in the second half of the season too.

Well yes, we have consistently not won every game and dropped points in some games. Most teams have done that.
However when we started resting players for the CL the PL form wasn't consistent with what it had been before we started resting players.
I know this to be true but if you can be bothered all you have to do is take our average points total over the previous games to resting players for the CL/resting players after the CL games and compare it to our average points total after we started resting players for the CL/after the CL games. You will then see the difference.
For example we drew with Everton when resting players for City. Drew with West Brom when resting players for Roma. Drew with Stoke when resting players after Roma.
Of course this is all part and parcel of managing the squad when you get into the later stages and are still in European competition and not an excuse but it's certainly had an effect and not been consistent with the rest of the season.
