Why would I mean from 08/09 when we are in the 17/18 season. I would obviously mean 07/08 season where you won a CL, and also didn't include the WCC.

We will park the bus for 89 minutes and Sanchez will nick a goal.
I will once again watch a Utd game and feel no emotion besides meh

MUDd - I'll be honest and say I'd take that right now judging by how our season has gone.
Next season though the football on offer has to be easier on the eye.

With this manager that plays negative football against the teams in the bottom half of the table.
You have far more faith in him than I do

Good thing about facing United is unlike Spurs, Pool and City they will let us have the ball. They don’t press as a team as well as the others which is one of our biggest weaknesses.
.................
We certainly are one of the laziest teams out there.

Next season is his last chance saloon for me. If he doesn't get it right in terms of performance and success then I'd err on the side of bringing in a replacement. He'll have no excuses after three years.
However, I may have a bit more faith than you (maybe blind faith!) but I do think we will be better next term. As turgid as it has seemed at times we have had better results this season and I'm hoping this upward trend will continue.*
*I reserve the right to completely change my opinion if we lose gutlessly on Saturday without even looking to put on a performance.

We should be full of energy for the final then! If Jose puts his team out like he did against Chelsea in April 2017 then I'll be more than happy.
Don't know where the optimism for next season stems from. There are question marks surrounding the future of key players and ed still has to do the business with needed acquisitions in the summer

The optimism is that Ed and Jose get it right this time.

The optimism, for me at least, comes from:
The fact we've not played that well this season and finished second.
It comes from the fact that we should be able to attract top class players as we've qualified for CL (added to the fact it's Man Utd!).
It looks like Jose has identified the areas in which we need to strengthen in interviews all through the season. Mirroring what we've said on here in the main. Now, he may not get the players we'd pick but I'm willing to show patience for one more season.
We have progressed. This is the first time since SAF that we've qualified pretty comfortable for CL.
Maybe this is just me though but I don't want to go into next season thinking it's doomed from the start.
We will park the bus for 89 minutes and Sanchez will nick a goal.
+++++
Sanchez couldn't buy a goal with several wheelbarrows full of his money, let alone knick one.
Thats a very optimistic scenario of how the Cup final could pan out MUDD
Didn't sanchez score in the semi final?
Yes. it was one of his 3 goals for United.
If we do sneak a 1-0 win it will be Lingard.

Yes he can Nickasaurus.
He is feckin brilliant. Worth every penny and is a United legend.
Is this what you want to hear.
Smalling scores as often as Sanchez ffs
Hopefully United will let us play again.
As we shown in both the Leti games and 1 and a half games against United, we are really good against even top teams when they sit back and let us dictate.

No wonder people think our fans are spoilt.

No.
Sanchez should play on the right. he has played there before and is quite capable of playing there.

I sort of get what MUDd is saying though, Ji.
I felt pretty flat after winning the Europey to be honest. it was the way we played that did it for me.

The FA cup is way more prestigious though... imo.
I don't care if we win with a goal that lands in Fellaini's afro and he walks it into the net. I'll be buzzing.
I'm with Ji on this.
Saturday is all about the winning for me. It would be great if we could do it in a swashbuckling manner but that is unlikely. I think the best we can hope for is a controlled and measured performance similar to our Europa League Final last season which was far more comfortable than I ever thought it would be with us in a final.

Which goes toward my questioning of peoples optimism regarding an improvement next season when despite a top four finish and maybe an fa cup we seem to be entering the post season with as many questions surrounding the squad as we had when Jose first took over.
