The FA cup is way more prestigious though... imo.

The FA Cup has sort of lost it a bit for me. The day they started playing semis there was the beginning, and then having play off there. And then the rebuilt of the stadium itself.
Walking down Wembley way just wouldn't be the same for me without the twin towers.
Which goes toward my questioning of peoples optimism

I would rather be optimistic than pessimistic though.

VC. I know.
I also know what you mean as well but after a season of so-so performances I'd take another so-so performance for another pot at the end of it.
I do hope we take the game to them and are aggressive with it. From the outside looking in they seem like they're not very together there although, being Chelsea, I'm sure they'll be able to dig out a performance from somewhere. Not for Conte but for themselves.

One clearly has to ask what Conte was thinking with his line up at the Bridge against Huddersfield.
It seemed to transfer onto the players who looked like they just didn't care.
I wonder if Conte would have the balls to drop Hazard again?

Nick,
All of this breast beating and boasting about prior successes has no relevance to the upcoming FA Cup Final.
If Jose, who does not like to admit a mistake, starts his best player Marcus Rashford, then Man U. will probably win. Otherwise it will be a toss-up, and prior titles, Cups, Shields etc. etc. will not matter!

You wouldn't feel any emotion with a last minute goal that wins the FA cup final?
............
I sort of get what MUDd is saying though, Ji.
I felt pretty flat after winning the Europey to be honest. it was the way we played that did it for me.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Finals are for winning, not for playing.
I agree VC. Especially about the semis being played there. Plus I'm older and have seen a lot, so some of the magic has gone.
Still good to win though.
Chelsea to win by the biggest fluke in history, and Mourinho cries !,it's in the stars .
But I'll miss the goal because I will have fallen asleep !
How would Erik write this post?
United fans: Would you swap Jose for Conte?
Chelsea fans: Would you swap Conte for Jose?
Guess it boils down to, Jose is proabably a tiny bit more negative than Conte who is boring too but at least Jose's football gets results/trophies
Conte's cup record is just so pathetic well it's non-existent because he's never won one, and Mourinho has the best in the game
Hopefully a fluke will occur and we'll somehow win, but feel zero confidence and not looking forward to losing another fa cup final 2 years running
This will probably be one of the most boring FA Cup finals ever
A sneaky 1-0 win to either side I think
Que inevitable 5-4 thriller
This will probably be one of the most boring FA Cup finals ever
.....................
Our 1-0 (Cantona) v The Spice Boys will take some beating for boredom.
I didn't care, mind.
Tough game.
But because Chelsea have slightly more options it is theirs to lose.
If United start out with their best line-up then the game will be interestingly close at least.
For those that don't know, that best line-up is:
darmian
Jones
Smalling
Shaw
Valencia
Mata
Matic
Pogba
Young
Lukaku
If Jose risks starting with Martial and/or Rashford, it'll get iffy. But they may be useful as subs.
If lingard and/or herrera are in the starting line-up, then my congrats will be for chelsea

At least that had the Spice Boys p!55 take build up to the game. This game is off the back of a dull season

I know IamMe is a wum but if that team played consistently all season I think we'd actually see a bit more excitement than we have during the season we've just had. At least it has players playing where they are comfortable and offers a bit of width.

Would it be really more exciting, though? I don't think we are dull to watch because of personnel - sometimes we have, say, Lingard, Sanchez, Pogba and Mata in the same team, with Lukaku to bang in the goals. We often look attacking on paper but it's the approach that's the problem.
IAmMe's team is actually not that bad, coming from someone who used to advocate a midfield pairing of Rooney and Mata in a 442. But Valencia and Young's days on the wing are in the past, I feel. And of course, there would be a lot of pressure on the back four, having to protect a goal with no keeper in it.
Like most others, I expect a tight, tense game. The first goal will likely be decisive

I said it on another thread the other day, but I thought 06-07 was dreadful. We lost to 1-0 Chelsea, having just won the title, in the first final back at the new Wembley. A dire spectacle, as I remember.
