Rashid a complete waste of a selection

Sam Curran has shifted momentum in both innings. Took us to 246 from 89/6 and then took the wicket of Kohli to expose the rest of the batting line up.

And by do they get exposed when he goes

Thing is, Moeen is so bloody soft that he feels pressurised when he's the only spinner/when he has to bat higher than 6. That's probably the only reason Rashid was picked, to reassure Moeen.

Perhaps if we pick Bess, Leach and Rashid and bat Moeen at 11 you'll see centuries and 10 wicket hauls from him all over the world?
thing with moeen is he'll go for months being worth 2 players, then go for months being completely useless.
Flaky as hell, is Moeen. On song he's amazing, but he's so prone to throwing his wicket away when well set.
Does have these golden spells though
England's middle order things's such a conundrum now.
don't think any of curran, moeen or woakes are droppable for the timebeing at least, and can't see England ever dropping stokes.
which I guess means you've got to give Bairstow the gloves, and that at least one of the above has to play at 5.
Just discovered Bumrah's highest score in Tests is 2

5 is too high for Moeen, and 7 too low for Stokes. Should be Stokes, Bairstow, Moeen in that order.
Burns at 2.
Hildreth at 3 for me, but that won't happen. We don't have a ready-made 3.

Ishant showing more brain cells than the whole middle order combined.

I just think that moeen would rather bat higher, and stokes would rather bat lower.
then again moeen doesn't want to bowl, so...
Why didn't Pujara take the single there - very poor batting there. The 100 is not as important as the team ffs.
I actually reckon the reverse is probably true, personally, but not knowing the lads in question it's tough to say.
No doubt about the fact we need 2 solid upper-order bats though. Burns has to be one of them. The other one, though? Far less clear.
Unsure how oxenford thinks pujara is playing a shot on that decision...
I haven't watched county cricket for years sann, so can't help there. agree in principal though obvs. the top 4 atm are pathetic. incredible that they've scored less runs this summer than the top 4 ever did against windies and aus in their respective pomps. what England would give for robin smith at 3.
I feel like Compton, Lyth and Ballance would have done better as a top 3 in this series
Pujara has done well to get India to parity here, they could have been facing a deficit of some 40 runs when Moeen got Shami out.
At the start of the series quite a few Indian batsmen were looking at their last chance for redemption in away test matches.
Only Pujara has come out with flying colours. A good knock and a well deserved 100 here.
