Madrid have so much talent there I don't see how you can write them off just because nobody can we 3 in a row. Nobody thought they would win 2 in a row and they did it at a canter. They have knocked out PSG, Juve and Bayern - 3 of the top 6 favourites at the start of the tournament. Madrid were made for the cl.

Good for them. They have played football the right way and deserve to be there.

When you really want a club to lose a game like this, you can't help but feel convinced they'll win.

In reality, we all know Real are superior to us so should have a better chance of winning.

We've got hope and a fighting chance - i'll take that.

If it's not enough come the full time whistle then so be it.

The difficulties Liverpool will face are pretty obvious, so it’ll be interesting to see if Liverpool can adapt their style to win.

Madrid play a deep defensive line, so won’t be vulnerable to the Liverpool counter like City and Roma were.
The other issue they’ll face is that Kroos and Modric are better than anyone they’ve faced, so the midfield battle will be interesting. I wonder if Klopp will throw Can back in now that he’s fit.

Things like retaining the CL in its current format just didn't happen until last season either.

As I see it the final could go either way. Both sides hold clear advantages over the other in certain areas. Personally, I find it impossible to predict which of those aspects will eventually tip the scales.

i think Real will win it tbh.

I think defensively they are more likely to cope with Liverpools front 3 than liverpool are likely to cope with theirs.

think it will be tight though.

Thats not entirely true though.
I would suggest City's midfield would more than give those two a run for their money, and we blew them away.
Its going to be tough either way though, and unless we are fully on it, then its going to be extremely hard to overcome madrid.
I would also say that our front 3 are better than anything they have faced in this seasons champions league, and we certainly wont be as wasteful as the ageing forward line of Bayern, or the attack of Juventus, if we are presented with the opportunities those two teams were.

Maybe.
But worth remembering in terms of form going into this game, Liverpool have the best defence in the premier league over the last 29 games of the season, which is pretty impressive, and probably mostly coincides with the purchase of VVD, and to be honest, watching Madrid at times this season, their defence looks awfully shakey at times, so for me, that defence can be got at just as much, and maybe even more so than ours can.

Marcelo is the key for me.

Salah offers little to no protection (which I'm fine with) so Marcelo has the ability and inclination to merk us. Paradoxically if he gets it wrong we could put Real in all kinds of trouble.

I fully expect us to go a bit longer like in the second half vs Roma and try and isolate their cbs in quick transition. Do that, and maybe score a couple, and I can see Ramos walking.

Madrids record in this competition is phenomenal, plus they have the better players, think this game is a bridge too far for Liverpool esp with Klopp's cup final record and his one dimensional approach to football

Theres no denying we have a certain way of playing, but we arent simply a team of speed merchants, without the guile to break team down.
The majority of teams we play in the premier league sit back, and pack the midfield, and we generally find a way to beat them, and we are also capable of over running teams that might decide to come at us.
So to call the manager one dimensional, is a little inaccurate.
As for the managers record in finals, this has little or no relevance going into tomorrow nights game.
Unless you believe in witchcraft, superstition, etc.

50/50 for me.

Could end up 4-1 to either team such is the way they are both capable of playing.

If Liverpool don't 'freeze' and not play too much into Madrid's hands (as I expect them to defend deep and break) then they have a hell of a chance.

I actually think it'll be quite cagey in the first half with Madrid dominating possession in the middle third but not wanting to commit too many forward just in case. I also think Liverpool will not be as gung-ho as people expect either.

I think it'll be 3-1 Madrid but with us dominating a chunk of the game. They just have so many players that have been there and done it, that know how to win, that I think it will be enough for them. I think that the one thing we can guarantee is goals.

We're still essentially the same side that struggled against Klopp's Dortmund sides.

We're obviously more experienced now, but we always had trouble adapting to their game and pace, and our key players are undeniably ageing.

On pure footballing terms you'v got the upper hand, imo. We have experience and individual quality.

All in all, it seems finely balanced although, somewhat ironically, you still can't discount either side blowing the other way depending on how heavily each of the factors at play weigh come the night.

Either way I don’t envy the nerves of Liverpool fans tomorrow night.

The 08 penalty shootout was the worst it’s been for me, unbearable.

Op- I agree. I’ve an uneasy feeling about tomo night.

I think Pool will win, and that's fine with me. If they do they will deserve the plaudits. And one good thing about football is that there is always next season.
