Shame that liverpool owe some money for the lovely new increased capacity main stand whereas good old Everton are debt free and playing in their shed.

Debt is no problem if you can repay it, and the terms are favourable. Debt from big teams building stadiums is fine as you have a fixed asset at the end of it. The problem debt in football is wages.

If I lived in a decrepit wooden and steel shed, Id have no debt either.

Everton are indeed minted though so I wonder who they'll spend £150m on this season. Maybe some more number 10's, I don't know.

And when you've borrowed for the stadium you'll have about the same level of debt as everyone else.

Basically Everton are lagging behind while everyone else is past this stage and improved their ground.

As Great said, debt can be a good indicator and this is a case in point. Not having any debt, when some debt could have helped you is nothing to be proud of.
