I won’t be around to see Leeds overtake Everton. They can’t even get into the same league as EVERTON.
It's true that it's unlikely I will be around then, but lots on here will be.
Who thought City would overtake United?
But money doesn't just talk, it shouts.

Leeds are just about whispering at the moment.
That far below they are difficult to hear.

Unless an unbearable financial collapse happens to Liverpool, I can't see Everton overtaking them.

Debts are a good thing. I don't think you know how big businesses work. It says everything that Everton don't have them.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Just for those who are not city traders/Wall Street hot shots, how is debt good?
Everton know all about making zero progress with a boatload of money don't they though.

Let us pray it does. Nearly happened 4/5 years ago.
Imo, Everton have missed their best chance for years to surpass Liverpool. Liverpool have been largely poor for the last decade, barring Rodgers' 2nd place finish and the last couple of full seasons under Klopp. Other than that? They've been pretty dismal.
I'm aware Everton have just had this recent influx of money, but money doesn't buy you everything. You can't necessarily just "buy" success, it's got to be earned.

£200m debt, but that’s a good thing because.....
Well it’s good because Liverpool have loads of it. That’s how they nearly went out of existence if it wasn’t for some fans outside the high courts......dread to think!
Averagefan. Money pretty much does buy you success, look at Chelsea and City, watch Wolves come up the league.
Even in my lifetime Everton had a period when they were better than Pool, it will happen again someday.
Everyone's got money in the Prem now though and there's only so many players. Everton were above us for about five years out 50 but I can't handle that.

Not always. I'm sure teams like PSG and Man City are looking for European success. So whilst it's correct they've "bought" their way to domestic success, they are still a failure in Europe at the moment because they don't have that pedigree to win things in Europe.

Average fan, the pedigree argument is ridiculous when you think about it. Otherwise how does any team win it for the first time? You win things by being better, pedigree has nothing to do with it. We're not breeding dogs here, we're playing football.

Everton spent £170m last season. I don't think the squad is even worth that now.
