Considering the huge amount of investment and talent brought to the Liverpool team. Surely there is a lot of pressure on Klopp now? If he doesn't mount a serious title challenge, for example, will he get the sack?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Can't see that happening, tbh. He's done very well up until now considering where Liverpool were.

The only scenarios I think might threaten his position would be the season being an unmitigated disaster, either dropping down the table like a rock, or dropping out of the top four without at least a decent CL run or domestic cup title to show for it.

€70m on a keeper

€70m+ on a CB in Jan

€120m spent on a new midfield

Liverpool would consider it a failure of a season if they didn't win the league, no?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Not when rival clubs looking at the title spend the same I would say, but we certainly need to up the points tally in the league again and no one will fancy a trip to us in the CL after last seasons showing, it was the start of what I hope is several years of serious CL challenges.

There can be no excuses. I expect a challenge

Huge investment will bring more scrutiny, if Liverpool fail to mount a serious title challenge next season, no doubt Klopp will be under immense pressure.

No. Its not like we've busted £120m on strikers to finish 6th is it. Youd have a point uf there were not squads that cost the same or even more plus higher wage bills but there are.

Are people willfilly stupid?

I think no title and serious cup challenge would mean his job is at risk surely? This is the season Liverpool should really crack on and win something substantial as if it doesn't happen then certain players may look elsewhere.

“Grounded is not a word I would use to describe your fans - I don't think I've ever seen a quietly confident Liverpool fan, only ones who get way ahead of themselves and try to shove it down other fans throats”

Are you saying this because we think we’ll finish above Arsenal? It’s not a ridiculous prediction to make. You were miles off the top 4 last season. What makes you think that bridge has been gapped?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Because we've got the better manager.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
When you say you’ve got the better manager, what do you mean. Better than who?

Signs suggest we should be able to kick on, there's been steady improvement in the tea since he came in although what we saw last season was if we are to go far in Europe we need better depth in the squad to keep going in the league too, the drop off from the front 3 to Ings and Solanke shows we need better quality.

Also want to see a good FA cup run, been agens since we did that and would love to see us win a trophy as it's been too long now and Klopp needs one too.

I guess it's just a very exciting time to be a red right now, the club is as galvanised as it's ever been, the crowd showed in CL last season it can create unreal atmospheres that have helped the team and startled opposition teams.

Surely this is obvious, he's not going to be comparing Arsenal's manager with Reading's is he?

I don’t think our owners think like that tbh. They seem more interested in building something long term than issuing ultimatums. There’s a good feeling around the club at the moment from the business being done on and off the pitch, and momentum seems to be going our way in terms of progress.

I can’t see why the owners would want to bring that to a halt and find a new manager, effectively having to start again.

It's probably the first season under Poch in which I predict Liverpool will finish ahead of Spurs. Right now I would guess 2nd place behind City.

It depends on the circumstances around not winning it!

If we finish the season third 2 points behind 1st and 2nd after a final day shoot out, no! Because there will have been a massive improvement.

Now if we’ve splashed it on players and finish 6th in a battle with Burnley, yes!

Yeah I think top three myself and were we to sign both Allison and Fekir I think we'd get it too. Then its all a bit knockout football with City and Utd who also have hugely expensive squads on big wages.
